QUOTE(kroul2 @ Oct 16 2016, 09:00 PM) First, it depends on the availability of the video in one of Google's nearest POP. Second, even on my Unifi connection(30Mbps), the speed is just only 20Mbps(stat from nerds). Third, what do you mean by load? Loading a video or buffering it? If loading, then it's all about latency. Google will not run out of POP capacity so easily and it's not like only Malaysia and Singapore had POP. We don't talk about Unifi here since we all knew TM's peer routing to certain ISP in Singapore is totally messed up. So you are suggesting me that U Mobile had triple digit to server that is merely less than 500 miles away from us? U Mobile must had terrible peer routing if they really do.

QUOTE(kroul2 @ Oct 16 2016, 09:02 PM) Then, it's safe to assure that U Mobile cap the quality as they stated. Full HD doesn't consume Video Onz data if they really cap quality and if they do, Video Onz data will be consumed.

QUOTE(Masamune @ Oct 17 2016, 01:14 AM) Hey guys, I'm thinking of switching to umobile due to the attractive plans. Just a quick question. How's the LTE/4G coverage around KL or selangor? Other than Berjaya Times Square, most location barely goes over 10Mbps. Sone places even constantly less than 5Mbps.

QUOTE(Masamune @ Oct 17 2016, 10:11 AM) Meaning in those areas u get good speed? Cause I'm usually at those areas. I wouldn't say it's good using my standard but it's good enough for general purpose. Definitely not good enough for full HD streaming.

QUOTE(T400 @ Oct 17 2016, 10:49 PM) anyone think it's stupid to get the mobile broadband mifi for rm128 instead of hero98? Yes I do think so. You could buy a lte mifi for around 250 in lelong so why bother pay extra every month just for it. This post has been edited by zher4883: Oct 17 2016, 10:53 PM

QUOTE(citiranger @ Oct 22 2016, 09:34 AM) Hi all, I just sign Umobile Broadband plan when I found out my place got 4G coverage... After 2 days, I realise I only got 4G(1bar) during day time and night time 3G+ (2 bar) .... which took like 3 minutes to fully load a webpage. Should I cancel and return the Mifi ? Can anyone advise ? Like the speed, I do not think I can even finish half of the 6GB Quota... How are you expecting things to load when your signal strength is so weak. If you don't plan to buy an external antenna or signal booster, just return it. I believe it had 7 days cool off period.

QUOTE(Hummingbird @ Oct 26 2016, 09:19 AM) Any idea if Umobile has 4G network in Batu Pahat? The map does not seem to be changing much since the last time I check it. There's two possibility if certain area is not covered by 4G LTE right now. Either they had turned on 4G there but not stable enough or they really doesn't have 4G LTE there.

I just took a look at the coverage map and noticed that Ipoh, Sitiawan and Seri Manjung had 4G LTE coverage just added recently.

QUOTE(zyrl @ Nov 10 2016, 02:55 PM) Currently using Tune Talk. Last time, when top up RM30, will get 30days validity date and 1GB. But now they claimed to make that prepaid package better. Top up RM30 will get 1.5GB buttttt validity date has become 15days. So it is time to look for new Telco I found UMI30 which is seems like not bad. I dont call / sms . Just need free data to go by every month. Does UMI30 need montly commitment? because it says Monthly Fee If you want to use data of course there is monthly commitment because there's no free lunch in this world, but you can cancel it anytime you want or stop auto renewal anytime you want.

QUOTE(flip003 @ Nov 10 2016, 06:11 PM) Anyone facing issue where the connection verry slow at night . When gaming my ping so high . I currently using umobile 98. If i do speed test damn fast . But browsing or gaming slow + high ping. I think umobile boos that speed test connection or something . They didn't boost the test result. The problem is peer routing between U Mobile to the desire game server. Speed Test only measure speed between you phone and server located in Malaysia. International peer routing is expensive and U Mobile can't afford for huge bandwidth for it.

QUOTE(flip003 @ Nov 10 2016, 07:30 PM) So they do speed test boost . Because speed test normal but ping so high and slow connection . International peer routing are shared by all U Mobile users in Malaysia. You could get good speed test result because you only share the backbone with cities around you no the whole Malaysian U Mobile subscriber as the speed test server are located locally.
