2) mention the code to the cashier when ordering over the counter.

sometimes dominos like to recycle old codes discreetly.
ones I remember are sm2a, sm1m, eve2, and a bunch other codes. So far, sm2a is the best value for money and the one they keep putting in on the system.

For online order, its quite obvious. If you key in an active code, it'll show the promo list for you to choose from. Any inactive code will be shown a notification that the code isn't working.
Usually dominos would sms frequent customers about their latest promo codes.

for the SM2A code, its only for takeaway. Means you have to pick up from the outlet.

Yea, I wanted to try pizzahut for once. Haven't tried them for a very long time, but then someone posted the toppings for this promo, really pathetic. Can count with one hand the toppings.

the codes basically rehash of the same thing, with different combo and different pricing. And some works for delivery, some only takeaways.

Once your order is in the system, the outlet will honor the offer and the price. So don't worry. Dominos work via central ordering system. If something does goes wrong with your order, they will call you beforehand.

for advertised code via sms, they usually include the expiry date. but for hidden ones, There's no way to find out. but expired codes are normally taken our of their system.
