Ha ha yeah... I thought you'd be able to connect to iCloud on your Android whatsapp, then download the backup but apparently that's not the case. Seems like 3rd party software is the suggested way to go. Any sifus out there who can help out?
*
I think the best software is backuptrans. I use it to transfer from Android to iPhone, very easy and quick. They also have iPhone to Android version. I did a lot of research but as far as I can find, there's no way to do it unless use 3rd party app. Icloud only works for iPhone to iPhone and WhatsApp back up to Google drive only for Android to Android.

Its impossible to untrip knox.

May I know how important is Knox?
Also, once we root, knox is gone forever?
Thanks

Finally making up mind to get S7e. Reading this forum the cheapest is from gemfive / 11street / lazada. So will be getting from one of these online mall. However saw at Samsung store Raya promo free wireless charger, I wonder does this apply to online retailers as well?

Rayzel, which seller did you get it from in 11street? How much? And the seller ad doesn't include wireless charger but comes with it anyway? If so that's good !

RM2476 wink.gif

Do update once you receive, especially did it come with the Raya Promo wireless charger. I tried to contact them but can't find any seller contact link on gemfive like in ebay.

Deal no more already? Who was the seller?

QUOTE(abrak @ Jun 22 2016, 06:02 PM)
I think because it is sold out. Last I check the item only 1 left.
*
I also couldn't find it at first. Then I keep reloading and it appeared again. Managed to buy, RM2287.12 after Maybank discount (12%). I hope will get the item....fingers cross.

I suspect the wireless charger might be OEM but so long it works I guess.

Can anybody recommend a portable/light quick charge 2.0 / 3.0 (QC 2.0/3.0) wall charger UK plug with at least dual port (just need one of the port QC 2.0)?

I've been searching on lazada, 11street, lelong, ebay. Can only seem to find those with rounded pin which I find not very stable in the plug, they tend to dislodge easily from the wall.

Anker has a 3 port but looks very big/heavy. Saw dual ports ones in amazon uk but they don't ship to Malaysia.

Thanks for the recommendation. I saw this while searching. Have you use it? Good product?
The pin is the rounded type though, I find they tend to dislodge from the wall easily compared to uk 3 pin.

What do you all use as travel charger for your s7e? Also, I just bought a xiaomi qc3.0 power bank, it's only one port though.

Just got the s7e smile.gif
May I ask, do you all put in the sim and then start up the phone, go thru the process then only use the samsung smart switch ? Or don't put in SIM first but connect smart switch first? Sorry if silly question.
Alternatively, is it better to just start fresh install all app and manually transfer photos and doc?

RM99.. they having promotion now... 18% off now..
RM81.20?  biggrin.gif
I went to samsung website, and also livechat, looks like only can get extended warranty at their service centres and not distributors. Very difficult for me as the nearest one in Ipoh is 2hours drive away....Does this mean, even if i get the warranty, any issues i have to go all the way to the official service centre and not a local distributor?

yeah have to buy it at their Service Centre...
No rush bro.. you can purchase it within 1 year warranty IF not mistaken.
but rm81 promotion ends 18th July. after that would be RM99.

Yes.. any problem you still need to go back to SC. If you send to the seller they also send back to SC.
*
I see, thanks. Ya looks like no rush, only $18 off not worth the petrol smile.gif Will go buy within a year whenever I happen to be nearby a service centre.

I previously use Nexus 5 and installed an app where you can swipe up from your home button to lock the screen. No need to press the power button. This does not work on s7e with finger print recognition. Anybody got a solution? Or how do you screen lock your phone without pressing the power button?

Something very sad just happen....bought the s7e from lazada last Wednesday rm2289 with the free wireless charger..got it on Monday, yesterday did not put SIM in since I don't have nanosim. But whole day installing, transferring app and data.

Just now went to change nano SIM. Phone suddenly can't boot. Got red words on the top left corner "Custom Binary Blocked by FRP Lock." Phone totally can't boot in.
Call the seller's phone on the invoice nobody answering. Went to local samsung distributor they say some problem with firmware, need to go service center. The nearest one is Ipoh...2 hours away...

Anybody knows why this error comes up?

use smart switch only need 1 hour transfer data ....why need whole day?
*
Yes about an hour. What I meant was I've been playing with the phone whole day, installing new app, delete some, doing housekeeping. Customizing ring tone, notification etc.

That's what u get when u flash custom kernel/root or recovery without turning on oem unlocked .... Did u do that ? If u did , reflash back stock firmware
*
Nope did not flash anything. Switch on phone, followed instruction, connect cable smart switch. But only put in SIM today. How do I flash myself? Will it void warranty or disable Knox?

Yes , it will tripped knox and void warranty but there might be other causes which i'm not aware of , i only encounter this when i rooted my S6E+ last time and didnt turn on oem unlocked . Samsung never did have such thing on earlier models . Phone will reboot just fine after flashing and rooting but the minute i turn off my phone , i cant turn it on again and this warning pop up . Only way is to replace either recovery or kernel with stock .

Try this . Put your phone into dl mode ... Volume down + home + power and see if the knox is tripped . If it's , contact seller . If it's not , contact seller also b4 going to Samsung .

Btw, to exit download mode, hold power and volume down
*
Decided didn't want to risk flashing myself. The seller eventually called me last night. They also say not sure what's going on. So ended up this morning took a 1hr40mins drive to Ipoh. First customer at the Samsung Service Centre at 10.30am. The CSR saw the phone and immediately say need reinstall software. She and the technician look at me one kind, maybe thinking I go and mess up the phone. Anyway, one hour I came back phone working again. Nobody can explain to me what happen. Keep saying software conflict. Also, when I ask about turn on the OEM unlock, the technician keep saying better not, you will lose security. I turn it on anyway, worry get this binary block FRP lock again.

Now reinstalling phone after factory reset....hai. What bad luck.

Only positive part, since in service centre, extended warranty for another year, RM88.20 (after 18% Raya discount).

On another note, quite disappointed with Spigen curved hd screen protector. Not sure if I put it on wrongly or what. The edges keep curling up. Also got the spigen crystal neo hybrid. Good grip but the port below can only accept thin microusb connectors.

Previously I use titanium backup on my Nexus 5. It needs root which I am not keen to do for the s7e (don't want to lose knox and samsung pay as yet). What good backup program do you all recommend?

Hi anwa are you using sim + sim or sim+ SD?
*
I use sim in Slot 1 and 128gb in Slot 2. Don't dare to try the burn/stick sim on top of microsd card. Also, I'm not sure is Slot 2 also LTE?
Really sad that samsung still not come out with the 64gb version of s7/s7e. Would have prefer that. But my nexus5 was dying and needed a phone.
