QUOTE(cfa28 @ Aug 7 2016, 12:59 AM) The numbers will tell if asus got their pricing strategy right. For now there are more people who say they got on wrong rather than right. USD479 at exchange rate of 4.3 plus 6% GST is only RM2183 but retailing for 2599. This is pure malaysia pricing strategy that is over ambitious, greedy or what ever you call it. At pure RRP * exchange rate and even add GST, the prices reflect an ASUS brand price range but 2599 to me is not Asus brand price range. Previously, people didn't think that Huawei was an above RM2k brand too, so perhaps Asus looked at Huawei and decided if the competitor can do it with some degree of success, so can they. But I agree, I wouldn't pay above RM2k for an Asus either.

QUOTE(WhatMan @ Aug 7 2016, 05:27 PM) We really should do a Maxis debacle and hashtag how Asus Malaysia is unfairly increase the price of the Zenfone 3. QUOTE(nexona88 @ Aug 7 2016, 11:07 PM) ahahah agreed. needed to teach them lesson Totally different scenario. It's not like they sell to the people in Sabah and Sarawak cheaper than they sell to the people in Peninsular Malaysia Anyways, ultimately, consumers have the power. If you think the ZF3 is not worth the asking RRP, look for alternatives or if your really must have the ZF3, buy 6 months later. Am sure the price will drop.

QUOTE(teckyang97 @ Aug 8 2016, 09:24 AM) Asus is known for their poor after sales service. I can testify to that. I've owned an Asus P565 (You'll know my age once you've googled what that is, ha ha ha), Asus FonePad and Asus Zenfone (A500KL) before. All had problems and all took very, very long (months) to be repaired at their authorised service centre.

QUOTE(abu.shofwan @ Aug 8 2016, 09:45 AM) I had a nv56z, zenfone 5, and (still keeping) a fonepad note 6 fhd (or whatever the official name) No issues whatsoever. Sold off the laptop, gave away the zenfone 5 (to mom in law, still doing ok though) and still using the fonepad. Different people, different experience, I guess. Correct, if you're unlucky enough to get a faulty unit (like I was every single time with Asus, hehe) then the after sales service experience is not that pleasant. No manufacturer is perfect, there's an element of luck involved. So far my experience with other brands have been slightly better when it came to problems compared to Asus, but like you said, different people, different experience.

QUOTE(WhatMan @ Aug 10 2016, 12:20 PM) I went around mobile phone shop but don't see any Zenfone 3. What kind of launch is this? Limited availability at launch is a common thing as Asus doesn't exactly have the best supply chain out there. Try directd's flagship outlet at the Federal Highway.
