QUOTE(krishtiano86 @ Mar 10 2017, 10:54 AM) Well, I still haven't done a factory reset though. Maybe I'll do just that after work. Also, the notification tray has empty space on top-left side. When clicked, it seems like this was the clock area, as it would open the clock and alarm app. Hurm... |

QUOTE(Mubarak90 @ Mar 10 2017, 11:12 AM) Yeah, probably will do just that. Just that, it really hits me when suddenly, I can't connect to internet with wifi. Guys, just to update, everything is fine now. Enjoying Android 7.0 on my Zenfone 3 5.2".The upgrade file is around 1.5GB I think. Okay, what people do need to know is that after updating, the wifi settings will be altered without it being mentioned. Previously installed Unifi in my home, but somehow certain gadget will have trouble using the wifi. This is because the Default gateway couldn't automatically sync between router and the gadget. What was needed to solve the issue was to manually set the default gateway and IP for the gadget. My Zenfone 3 was manually set to use the wifi when the Unifi was first installed, which was a few months ago. So, after update from Android 6.1 to 7.0 was completed on my Zenfone 3, I'm still connected to my wifi (which means that network settings wasn't totally reset), but I can't connect to the internet. Since I didn't remember that I need to manually set back the Default Gateway and IP, I first try to Completely Reset my Network Settings, which makes the phone forgets all the saved network. This is to no avail, which I then continue with do a full factory reset, which also is to no avail. Then I proceed to hard factory reset and clear cache by holding down power button and volume down button for 6 seconds when phone is off. This also didn't result in my phone can be connected to internet using wifi. Then, after losing all hope, I remembered to check my TV network settings and try using the similar settings to my phone, and voila, there is internet connection with wifi. **Important** So, for people updating their phones to Android 7.0 (for Asus Zenfone 3 MY), do note that it will change the manually set wifi settings to auto. |

QUOTE(chikuera @ Mar 13 2017, 12:13 PM) still contemplating either to get the Zenfone 3 5.2, Honor 8 or P9. The UI is the same for the most part. Most of the changes visible are from the drop down menu for quick settings. The good thing about Zenfone 3 is 4GB RAM + 64GB Internal storage for the price. You also get OIS for the rear-camera, which both Honor 8 and P9 doesn't have. The manual control for camera is also quite good since there are many options to change and control.Used Zenfone 2 before (4/64) and kinda dislike the UI..is there any change after nougat? |

QUOTE(droidtrix @ Mar 13 2017, 02:05 PM) Correct, for me it's well built. I do think it can be better with back-lit buttons and a faster response for fingerprint scan. QUOTE(chikuera @ Mar 13 2017, 02:19 PM) i also dont like using launcher Correct, both H8 and P9 also got manual, but I'm not sure how many things you can control with those 2 smartphones. With Z3 you can control shutter speed and you can control the focus distance on top of the regular manual controls like ISO, WB and Exposure.yeah. used zenfone 2 before with 4gb/64gb. very snappy. just the battery is worst maybe because of intel soc yup, ois is the main advantage. p9 and h8 also got manual right? |

QUOTE(raoul @ Mar 13 2017, 03:51 PM) Well, I didn't feel it improved, though it definitely isn't getting worse. I do feel like the phone is wee-bit more responsive, even compared to when I bought it new. Maybe the animations/transitions has speed up. |

QUOTE(szerone9 @ Mar 14 2017, 04:58 PM) Hi guys, I would suggest the Zenfone 3 Max.Need your opinion, which model is better? Asus Zenfone 3 Max 5.2" or Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML ? Zenfone 2 got 4GB RAM while Zenfone 3 only 3GB RAM. Is it okay if i run 10 apps at the same time for 3GB RAM? or is it depend on processor? and will my battery life last longer if i use Zenfone 2 as it has bigger screen and only 3000 mAH? Thank you Pros of Zenfone 3 Max : Significantly better battery life Better software support (higher chance of newer android and updates) Got decent fingerprint scanner More premium built, better to hold Pros of Zenfone 2 : 4GB RAM Faster CPU Faster GPU Full HD Screen (1080p resolution) Possibly better primary camera overall |

QUOTE(gogo2 @ Mar 15 2017, 12:20 PM) You're joking right? Zenfone 3 Max is the crappiest of the crap. Wow, your day must be bad.It uses MTK chipset performing way worse than SD625. SD625 already a crappy chipset. You're suggest even worse chipset of all. You need to get your brain check if you're going to buy Zenfone 3 Max. |

QUOTE(szerone9 @ Mar 15 2017, 03:47 PM) Thank you for your feedback... How much is your budget? Now i'm in dilemma.. as Asus Zenfone 3 max 5.2" using quad-core processor (same as my old samsung j3) which i find lagging during multitask. But then when I look at 5.5" which use octa-core... people been compare it with xiaomi redmi note 3 or 4... really can't make up my mind Because the 5.5" is around RM900 which is quite far from the RM700 of the 5.2" one. |

QUOTE(szerone9 @ Mar 15 2017, 05:06 PM) Well, it should consume more power since it comes with bigger screen, higher resolution screen, and a better SOC(CPU + GPU). But it also comes with bigger battery, so, I think the power consumption should be better with the 5.5" version. Do check reviews though, it might help. |

QUOTE(kels83 @ Mar 16 2017, 11:07 AM) Upgraded to Nougat without do factory reset, running fine and well so far, excellent performance and battery life! Hurm...maybe you can switch to manual and adjust the shutter speed faster. This should prevent the object from being blurred in the picture.and my camera dont know why when ppl or object moving i take photo, the photo sure blur, is that normal? this problem happen since 6.0.1 |

QUOTE(Roddin @ Mar 16 2017, 10:56 PM) just got the 7.0 update up and running. looks like the zs570KL runs much more smoothly after the update. Same with regular Zenfone 3, which is really nice. QUOTE(edwardccg @ Mar 17 2017, 05:14 AM) Maybe it'll be due soon. But yeah, probably due to the smaller user base, it has been pushed further back. The phone is nice, but I do share the same opinion as others regarding the price. If it was around the cheaper variant of Zenfone 3 Deluxe, it would sell better. |

QUOTE(Andrew_1980 @ Mar 19 2017, 09:30 PM) Zenfone 3 Max battery life any review? Looking for new phone that can last 1 day with light usage (web browsing, music playing) Both the 5.2" and 5.5" should last you the whole day with light usage. Used the 5.2" previously for a week, and the battery life is good.QUOTE(metaloid @ Mar 20 2017, 09:28 AM) Still V1 this Zf3 thread. Zf3 is underrated here, to me personally very good buy for SD625 and SD821 with good camera, plus easily get discount. Dont compare to Xiaomi their Redmi camera is crap and warranty troublesome. The phone is underrated because people prefer specs rather than overall performance. To me as a user, it is actually doing pretty well. I do feel the upgrade coming from Xperia Z3 Compact, with better screen, better camera, better overall performance and better everyday battery life. The CPU performance isn't that bad compared to Snapdragon 650 and 652 but the GPU performance is noticeably lower, but I still manage to play all the games I'm playing on my phone smoothly. |

QUOTE(metaloid @ Mar 21 2017, 08:39 AM) I think it's underrated because of the Asus brand and lack of marketing. People think of Samsung, oppo, huawei, xiaomi but Asus is more of a computer brand. The specs and price is actually quite good. Yeah, Asus isn't really well known for their phones, the first model Zenfones actually sold pretty well over here, but it does make a bad impression of having really low battery performance. Then came the 2nd generation with better battery performance but lacks built quality and great display. Now the third comes with great battery and great screen, even great camera but the launch price increase made people push it aside because base on their experience, it was not that good before with lower price, now with higher price, it simply becomes worse. |

QUOTE(ppavilion @ Mar 21 2017, 01:24 PM) What do you guys think about the price of zenfone 3 zoom..rm 2099 Wait review about the camera. But I do think it's not really the best phone at the price. Since both the 5.2" and 5.5" Zenfone 3 has dropped in price, Asus should launch this around RM1699 to make it more interesting.Satu gadget going to have stock probably this evening |

From browsing around the internet, I found out that :
Screen is upgraded -> (IPS LED) to (AMOLED) Battery is upgraded -> (3000mAh) to (5000mAh) Rear Camera is upgraded -> (16MP F2.0) to (12MP F1.7 1.4 µm pixel size + 12MP F2.8 Zoom Lens) Front Camera is upgraded -> (8MP F2.0) to (13MP F2.0 1.12 µm pixel size) Gorilla Glass probably upgraded -> (GG 4?) to (GG 5) With this much added value, I can say that the price makes more sense to me, though still seems overpriced. Would be much better with an SD820. |
