Overall Zenfone 3 have pricing issue.

Selling RM800 at RM1300 - -Zenfone 3 with SD625

Now selling RM400 phone at RM800 - Zenfone 3 Max

Without Intel subsidy, Asus is dead in the water.

I thought it's a new untested MTK cpu?

Zenfone 3 max seems to have similar specs with HTC desire 628, except battery. But CPU i dunno.

Zenfone 3 low end models are using SD 625 Octa-core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53. My friend ( a fellow lowyat forumer here ) had bought the 5.5 inch 4GB ram/ 64GB model and is very happy with it
The ZF Max is using Mediatek MT6737M Quad-core 1.25 GHz Cortex-A53CPU

finally got my TPU transparent case and tempered glass for my ZF3 ultra from taobao.
No need to naked it anymore.

Overall very satisfied with the phone, I treat it as a mini tablet and used as daily driver.
The only cons I have is it is too big when put on car holder for navigation, it block quite amount of eye sight during driving.

PS: you will need special car holder which can expand width up to 105mm in order to hold the phone

The ZF3 ultra is indeed a very very good phablet
I am indeed very impressed with it and would like to use as my daily phone over the MiMax if not for its size.
Those who look down at SD652 chipset should think twice. I would say overall is even better than the SD820 Axon 7 which I got yesterday
So impressed with the ZF3ultra I had preorder too the ZF3 Deluxe which should be in my hands next week.

i don't think it's rm2599 good. No one will buy it. It's sd652 for God sake. Would have gotten samsung.

I had used SD652 on A9pro, MiMax, ZF3ultra and must say is excellent so far
Don't be biased just because it score lower benchmarks vs SD820

Actually I was wondering when you said the axon performance was beaten by zf3u. Is the sd820 in Axon actually the down clocked version (such as in mi 5 32gb)?
Perhaps you can confirm its frequency in Axon?

Nope its not downclock. Its 140,000 antutu for Axon 7. Just that benny888 use it for a while and think app launch a bit slower than on Axon7, so benny888 make assumptions than ZF3Ultra better overall than Axon7. Quite misleading I would say but its his opinion so its ok.

It is just my initial impressions. The Axon 7 software I would say isn't as smooth and at times I do faced some micro lag.Even my other MiMax and ex A9Pro I felt is smoother than it
Apps loading on Axon7 is slightly slower vs the ZF3Ultra and apps installation is most obvious slower too. If you don't compare most people would not notice it. Anyway I will be spending more time on the Axon7 to have a better impression
Gaming ( which I don't do) I believe the SD820 should be better vs SD652

The ZF3 Ultra is not for everybody. It is a niche gadget due to its 6.8 inch display. I bought it solely as an entertainment gadget and will not be using it as a daily phablet
Worth or not is individual preference
I don't really consider its purchased value if I like it. Those I don't like I will sell off within 2 weeks irrespective of the price I paid for it

Is it MiFavor problem or due to throttling? I have not gotten mine yet. Probably i preorder it later.

Maybe you do side by side launch app of Axon7 with ZF3Ultra to gauge.

Also launch app is due to UF2.0 which both got.

Opss.. wow....emmc faster launch than ufs2. You are right. MiFavor might be the issue. Also from your link, ZF3ULTRA just have lpddr3 compared to lpddr4 in axon7. ZF3U might be very optimized.

But without scientifically proven launch app time, we depend on benny888 feeling.

i see the review the camera quality is impressive , better than redmi crap

With emmc and lpddr3, Zenfone 3 Ultra is severely overpriced.
