Just launced today.. Price as follows:

Zenfone 3 - RM1499/1699
Zenfone 3 Deluxe - RM2599/3299
Zenfone 3 Ultra - RM2599

Frankly quite dissapoint with the price.. Way too expensive..

Yup you're right.. Many potential buyers got swayed away bcs of the pricing.. Including me..

The pricing for ZF3 Deluxe with the SD821 is really questionable but I think the SD820 version is acceptable

Nope it's not. Too pricey already. Snapdragon 625 some more. I guess the upcoming Honor 8 has much better value than these.

That is to be predicted.. They are well known for budget friendly smartphones.. I've seen lot of people including my colleague using this as their first smartphone.. With the new pricing of ZF3 I doubt user will choose Asus again.. Maybe other provider like Xiaomi and Alcatel will take this advantage..

that pricing... i was expecting 1.2-1.3k for 5.2 inch zenfone 3. really no cheap thing in malaysia.

Edit: just realized the 5.2inch zenfone 3 is 4gb ram /64gb rom. where's the normal version!?

The price really killed it for me. I was ready to purchase day 1 but now I know this actual Malaysia price I'm looking into Samseng Note 7.

Rm2599 for the SD820 is a bit too expensive IMO. In the same price league as Samseng dee. I understand that in this iteration they changed a lot from the ZF2, like metal body, invisible antenna, 23MP sensor with tri focus, but they should at least try to price it lower, then only can beat Samseng on the same playing field. With this price, pipu are more comfortable buying Samseng than Asus.

International price is $499 (~Rm2015) so yeah, Rm600 increase is too much.

Quoted from gsmarena.com on their article on 30th May during Asus launched:

"Prices start at $249 for the ZenFone 3, $499 for the ZenFone 3 Deluxe, and $479 for the ZenFone 3 Ultra"

If direct convert still consider not as expensive as Malaysian price.. Dunno why the big price difference..
