I had this problem with gout. It started end of last year.
And I had seen so many doctors and 2 specialist in sunway medical.
No cure for my gout. They even injected my big toe with steriod. Still the problem came back after 2 months.

And I started searching the Internet for alternative. And I found this BAKING SODA can be a cure.
I bought a pure baking soda. Brand arm and hammer. And I started to drink with max dosage for a day. On the second day. I started to feel better.. And I kept on drinking for 2 weeks and I can say I can walk like usual now. No more pain and swollen toe.

I watched my diet too.. But the problem came back.
I think allopurinol. Cochicine and the anti-inflammatory are more harmful

1/2 a teaspoon diluted in water. Max 4 teaspoon a day. After wake up and before sleep is most important

Any baking soda or is there any specific baking soda.

Any one as long as it contain sodium bicarbonate.Too much can cause you to go into alkolosis.

Arm and hammer brand. Pure baking soda. I think this is the best

I got from Jaya grocer. Less than rm 20 for a small box of arm and hammer baking soda

Reduce red meat, beer (alcohol) and vegetables high in purine.

The steroids injection is to reduce the inflamation and to remove the build up of crystals formed by the high amounts of uric acid.

Of course keeping hydrated and/or maintaining a healthy lifestyle will help tremendously.

I tried dieting too.. But the gout came back. I think everyone is different.
Now I can even dare to eat more meat, fast food and coffee too. Basically I'm eating like what I used to eat.

Actually I was about to gave up and go for alluporinol before this baking soda alternative.

Stopped my gout after taking Celery 7000 pills supplement from Blackmores.
Last attack more than 2 years ago.

A lot of controversy around this.

First, statistics say the gout will go away without treatment, in 7-14 days. Often no more attacks within 1-2 years.

So, anything taken before next attack years away looks like it is a miracle cure. Might really be good, but don't know.

On the other hand, allopurinol needs to be taken daily for years, and 80% patients fail to do so, so when an attack comes, they say allopurinol useless.

Extreme diets impossible to maintain for most people. Claimed that only animal proteins cause problem. Vegetables high in purine do not.

Baking soda can be dangerous because of high sodium just like spoons of salt. Neutralizing stomach acid destroys food safety barrier and reduces extraction of nutrients. Useless because the body has rapid re-balancing mechanisms if you try to change pH of blood.
