Guys, Johnson Fitness got exhibition at Subang Parade today. It got bench and rack promo at RM1388 with free 1.8m barbell and 15kg (total) plate. Does it good?
The rack cost RM690 (if one would like to buy the rack only).

QUOTE(Bloopie @ May 30 2016, 09:06 PM) For me I don't prefer this kind becos u cant squat on it. Better get power cage/half rack like the above posts showed. You can do squat. The bench and rack is separate. Btw the suck thing is, the max weight that rack can support is 80kg. If more than that, need to mod (buy the solid holding nut). The one provide not so solid, hence can support just up to 80kg. |

QUOTE(Bloopie @ May 30 2016, 11:48 PM) Yeah that's the problem its not durable/not made for squatting I think (most people squat way more than 80kg). If youre new it can last you maybe 1 year tops. If you're looking for long term strength I suggest getting the stuff people here have already mention. My bench is already at 75kgx5 after about 1 year training. Maybe its good if you don't want to train legs, but they say never skip leg days Thanks for the sharing and advise bro. But the power rack like above kinda costly. I found ppl sell in Malaysia about RM2400. I can't afford that, even i really want to. But if you're into bodybuilding maybe it can last you longer I don't have much experience reading about that though.. So im look up other alternative. I found this Squat Rack at RM320. Can support up to 200kg. Does it recommended? Btw i already got flat bench. So i will use this for bench press and squat. Thinking to purchase the 1.8bar and 15kg plate with the same dealer. ![]() |

QUOTE(Amedion @ May 31 2016, 09:45 AM) Try mudah.my. Its' cheaper there. URL : http://www.mudah.my/Heavy+Duty+Squat+Rack+Stand-46250553.htm But bro, i have about 40kg normal plate. If i get the 1.8 olympic, then i need to get the olympic plate and i found kinda hard to get. Most of retailer selling the normal plate which is 2.5cm diameter. Not sure if its the same though. Let me know if you've tried it. I would like to purchase too. Don't get 1.8bar. It's 10kg only and cannot support heavy weight. Get olympic bar @ 20kg. That additional 10kg if you were to get weight plate also a cost. Btw, how much you think the standard 1.8 home bar can support? About 100kg can? |

QUOTE(Everdying @ May 31 2016, 10:38 AM) that looks so scary especially for home use. That cross my mind to. But the linked one kinda hard to find. I guess need to really careful. Will not let ego lifting heavy put me at risk. what if one of the legs topple over? cos u know murphy's law says it will happen. are u gonna drop the weights onto ur home floor? better go find one with both sides that are linked together. QUOTE(Amedion @ May 31 2016, 12:39 PM) Nowadays barbell quality is very bad. I visited a few newly opened gym and most of their barbell got abit bend. Thanks bro. Yah i go with your suggestion. So its hard to say. According to the spec i gotten before, the 1.8m barbell should be able to hold up to 150kg. Since you got 40kg normal plate already. You can use it first and sell off later to upgrade once u gotten stronger. QUOTE(helven @ Jun 1 2016, 12:28 PM) I found a quite good article for Chine bar. Good read if you can read chinese. Agreed. But since im just newbie and budget constrain, i'll guess just set for the china made one. Once im stronger and reach 60% of my goal, will upgrade and sell everything that i have.http://bbs.hupu.com/4993248.html It says The cheapest 2.2 bar is around 14kg-16kg, which approximately can hold up to 150kg to 200kg, not suitable for heavy deadlift. What you pay is what you get. I don't recommend getting unbranded equipment from lelong or mudah as 99% are imported from china. You'll be surprise to see the price sold in China and you can guesstimate the quality, it also depends on how much weight you gonna lift with those equipment. I myself not lifting very heavy at the moment so I dare to take the risk to get cheap one out of curiosity. |
