Hi guys, would like an input by you fellow sifus on an issue with my unit in Wisteria. A couple weeks back I dropped by Rimbayu and ventured into the Wisteria development for some sight seeing. Was shocked to find quite alot of Air Selangor markers cemented outside my unit along with many other houses as the one below:

Initially I thought something so uglily placed should be temporary, but it could not be temporary if they have cemented it. To make matters worse, look at how disproportionate it was cemented on the ground.
I then msged my SA to inquire about the purpose of the marker, found out it was indeed permanant, but for the purpose the SA will have to get back to me. Followed up a couple of days later and the SA started ignoring my msg. A far cry from the service I received when I was purchasing a unit.
Anyway, I take that the SA believe if there is nothing good to say, say nothing at all. Fearing the worst, I went to do my research and the following is what I found out.
Markers are usually there to show the location of important pipes and valves underneath. Generally markers are placed at either a T-Junction or a dead end road for the following purposes:
T-Junction : the junction outside has a sluice valve which can control water flow (eg: to cut water supply and conduct repairs if pipe burst)
Dead end : a scour valve underneath which can flush out the water from the pipes
The valves on both ends will let you know the location of the water pipes underneath.
Even then.. generally there is seldom needs for marker because at the T-junction there are the sluice valves which will have valve chambers which must be
above ground.
At the dead end there must be washout with chamber
above ground too.
In reality the chambers become the markers. Does anybody really need a marker to show the pipe location in front of their houses? Isn't it common sense to know where the pipes are? Especially when there is already a drain hole right in front of the house. (refer pic)
Furthermore, the Authority will have their own "as built drawings" to guide them.
To top it off, it is laughable that there are 2 markers planted on the exact same location.
So my question to any sifu familiar with construction is, what good indisputable reason can one give to have these markers placed in
intermediate units around the neighbourhood.
To the rest, would you be satisfied with your developer planting such an ugly marker, let alone 2, right outside your home, especially when your neighbourhood is strata titled, meaning after paying RM930k for a house, you have to come home to that ugly sight every day and nothing can be done.
Lastly, I do not believe this is air selangor requirement for a simple reason. I would bet my life, a development like Eco Sanctuary would ever allow this to happen in their neighbourhoods.
First time see such thing, let me check with my fren as well who bought Wisteria whether this is on all units or selected units. Btw, what izzit got to do with ES?
