Hey guys, my neighbors meter caught fire yesterday night and TNB came. TNB claimed that TNB didn't do the wiring properly during the Reno and they will fix the wiring at no cost for my Neighbour

But they also noticed that the wires are covered with casing which they say is illegal to do so in case of fire they can't see where the fire started from

Even mine is covered when Reno was done. Is it true that it's illegal? Attached are some pics

Hope to hear from u guys

It prevents proper ventilation. So don't put casing on it. You can paint it though

Cannot cover. Also if the wires run in the ceiling all are illegal.

The main reason is electricity theft..

You must have the cable visible for inspection all the way to the kwh meter ..

Here in kk, if they catch you stealing electricity they pull out the fuse and cut off your testicles..

If this is just the plastic casing, can just pull it out.

Your incoming cable to your meter travel quite a distant. I wonder ....
Any cable guy can assist you to remove the casing but not many have good workmanship.

Incoming cable to meter not recommended to conceal, because to prevent ventilation and security purposes but if short distance should be no problem.

Anything after meter is owner property, so anything after meter can conceal.
