could you detail further what is your purpose of this repeater? you mean to boost the wifi signal eg to extend the range of the wifi signal from your current wifi router?

I have been using old router as an extra access point which I suspect it slowed down my internet.

Im interested on how to use old router as repeater as well.

Can, same concept but of course you can't follow the DLink specified instructions but the general idea is the same.
1. Change the IP address to something different so it doesn't clash with your router.
2. Turn off the DHCP server cos you don't want 2 on the same network.

Yup. What soonwai says is true. When the two router's gatway IP is the same, it may causes conflict between the two router. It is important to turn off the repeater's DHCP Server, if not you will get the IP from the second router instead of the first router's IP.

looks like I need a new LAN to connect my second router to Main router , before it can act as repeater.

I just read the step by step....

To make it clear :
Currently my Asus router is the main router that connected to BTU and using LAN to connect one PC and wifi to connect few others.
I do have one stock router RG4332, wanna turn this into repeater.

The DLink forum link that I posted is for a wired access point (AP).

Wireless repeater I don't know how to do. I tend to avoid those because of reliability issues.

Ok. So, this is a wired access point, not a repeater. I will recommend you to do wired access point because it transfers all the speed without being slowing down the speed.
