Can we have multiple sim cards of the same number?, for those of us with multiple phones.

Any idea how this can be done? What I want mainly is to easily switch using between my two phones (one for work, one for play) without having to change the sim card. It is just so inconvenient to have to keep changing the sim card everytime. So what I want is to have each phone to have a sim card that is the same number. However, only one phone will be used at the same time. I'm aware of sim card cloning products available, but those cost like RM300 or so, and their main usage is to group multiple numbers into one sim card, which is not the main reason why I need it. Have any of you tried asking any service provider about getting a usable extra sim card? If yes, please tell about it. I'm a Celcom user, btw. Thanks.

dont think so can...
but i think you can have 1number for 2 different device..
the first one just for voice call only
while the 2nd one just for data.....
meaning 2 sims, 1 phone no.... but each sim limited to either data or phone... not both For MAXIS user ... dunno about CELCOM Now, with Multi-SIM 1 Line, you can own up to 5 SIM cards on one Maxis line. So you can run multiple devices on your single Maxis line simultaneously. How convenient! Maxis Multi-SIM 1 Line service, which can be used for the mobile phone, PDA, BlackBerry and Maxis 3G Connect Card, costs only RM15.00 for every additional SIM card per month and can be activated through a simple visit to a Maxis Centre or MASA outlet. For more information, please call our Customer Care Consultants at 123 or (03) 7492 2123 from any other phone. http://www.maxis.com.my/personal/latest/pr...m1lsm_intro.aspThis post has been edited by iZuDeeN: Jan 10 2007, 07:42 PM

Maxis got this kind of feature called Multi-Sim. Where up to 5 sim cards can have the same number for 5 different devices but only one device can receive call at any one time. I have this multi-sim card for 2 devices i.e. my Dopod 818Pro and Z800i. I can set either phone to receive calls by simply pressing *134*1*0000# For example, i set my Z800i to received calls; say if i am on the line on my Dopod 818 Pro, i still can receive incoming calls on my Z800i. click on link below on Multi Sim discussion http://www.myseclub.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=165This post has been edited by Gen-X: Jan 10 2007, 07:45 PM

Wow. Maxis is neat! Thanks for the replies guys. But sadly, I need something to work with Celcom. Anybody have any clues? Oh well, I might consider Maxis's P75 package after all. This post has been edited by sniper msia: Jan 10 2007, 09:09 PM

Was using Maxis's Multi SIM 1 Line program. Very convenient way of using it. Am now trying out Multi Line 1 SIM instead.
