My recently acquired TP-Link TL-WR1043ND hardware version V3 seems to have a problem with IPv6 support activation. I have flashed the firmware to the latest version 15th Feb 2016 but the result is still the same. The IPv6 connection cannot be activated and the status is forever "connecting...", never "connected". Does anyone with the same hardware version V3 encounter the same problem with IPv6 activation for Unifi?

QUOTE(Matrix @ May 23 2016, 11:23 AM) Does your ISP support IPV6 DNS? Have you tried to configure a manual iPV6 DNS? My ISP is TM Unifi. Before this TP-Link TL-WR1043ND wireless gigabit router, I was using an ASUS RT-N12D1 with IPv6 support fully functional. The problem can't be with Unifi.

Thanks for the TM Unifi IPv6 installation guide, but that is for the D-Link DIR-615.

QUOTE(L_nette @ May 23 2016, 11:40 AM) My tplink archer no problemo Latest hardware version V2? Good for you. Mind to share your successful IPv6 settings? Maybe I can use them with my TL-WR1043ND. The Archer C7 is same hardware as mine but has added wireless AC.

QUOTE(edwardstevens @ May 23 2016, 12:24 PM) at the ipv6 wan connection type, try slaac or ppoev6 (pppoe session share with pppoev4) also, for fun, use google ipv6 or opendns ipv6 dns servers I have tried this combination. It doesn't work for me. Are you using TP-Link routers and does it work for you?

QUOTE(azbro @ May 23 2016, 12:20 PM) Wait...i'm out. I try to teamview my computer Ok i just checked it, mine after Dynamic DNS no setting for IPv6. Straight away bottom is system tools Then your TL-WR1043ND hardware version is V1 or V2 with no IPv6 support. TP-LInk only enable IPv6 support in V3.

QUOTE(zerorating @ May 23 2016, 03:39 PM) mine 1043nd v2 also dont wont, i suspeck tm didnt even support ipv6 yet. dont care anyway since ipv4 still working True, IPv6 is still not mandatory for everyone, since IPv4 is still running. I am just miffed that my new router got IPv6 issues when it is not supposed to.

QUOTE(CoffeeDude @ May 23 2016, 03:58 PM) It will support an astronomical number of Internet addresses (3.2 x 10^38). IPv4 will run out when it reaches 4+ billion. There are already 7 billion people on this Earth.

QUOTE(khusyairi @ May 23 2016, 04:03 PM) I just test my office ipv4 vs ipv6. I found out ipv4 faster. Really ah? I didn't know. I was using an ASUS RT-N12D1 router with IPv6 fully running on it with Unifi. No problems. Didn't feel the IPv6 "slowness".

QUOTE(Matrix @ May 23 2016, 04:22 PM) is there any websites which is only accessible using ipv6? I dun think so right? Yeah, frankly, i dun see the benefit either... denimblue, why do you want ipv6 ar? I am curious, maybe there's something i am missing here. Because I used to have IPv6 running perfectly on my previous ASUS RT-N12D1 router. It is old and not a gigabit router like the new TL-WR1043ND. Wifi also weaker.
