Okie, I'm about to get an open pod air filter. But here's a few questions I've got.

The above is RM180, the below is RM49. There isn't much difference in my eyes, but how's it gonna affect the real performance? blush.gif

How do I clean theM? Do I replace them or do I use a airgun to clean it?

I noe the apexi's probabbly goin to be better, but is there really a large difference between the two's performance. Cuz I'm leaning more towards the second one, teh Simota filter. It's kinda unknown but I'd like to give it a shot if it's okay.

Thx for anybody that may answer these questions. notworthy.gif

Im not a pro nor a car modder. But for a newbie, better play with something cheaper. Simota is quite a well known brand. Even my fren's 280Z uses Simota air filter.

To clean it, you can wash it with water. Then, after washing (let it dry) theh, u need to apply the filter oil on it. This is for K&N's filters. I dont know about A'pexi's.

they're actually the same to me.

Apexi is a Jappo brand and known internationally. Simota is a Taiwanese brands and not that very well know... But then, itz quite popular in Taiwan, HK and also in certain parts of M'sia.

If I were you, I would go for the Apexi... Y? simple, cheap things no good, good things no cheap.

cheers.

i can see many ppl with little knowledge always quote "good things no cheap, cheap things no good".

what a dumb attitude.

if like that, dont buy the shitty apexi which only cost rm1xx. better get a hks or k&n which cost rm300-400 right ?

as a buyer we must always decide the performance/cost ratio, whether the improvement in quality is worth the increase in price

HKS and K&N cost about the same as the Apexi. It all depends on whether you need the adaptor or not. If no adaptor, you can get 4" K&N for less than RM200. Even the 6" ones are only RM250.

The difference is the filtration material, APEXI would probably give better filtration and still maintain good airflow whilst the cheap one give good airflow at the cost of filtration and the cheap one might have a hole later on who knows?

Don't clean with an air gun because it will damage the filter material, you have to follow the manafacturers guide to cleaning
