If I were a local telco seeing all this hype, negotiate deal with Apple to be exclusive seller, lock units to network contracts, just like JN & US. Start a new local trend! sweat.gif cry.gif

How about this bright future image:

2008 ... Japan, Korea uninterested in iFon (new legal name) because impossible to use with local systems, and only old technology .... Apple cannot get any Asian Telcos to agree to selling only locked units.... Asian market written off, with any others who do not lock phones to licensed telcos... No Apple iFon sold in Malaysia. Cheap Chinese GSM look-alikes flood market.

Yes, the iPhone is very important & revolutionary FOR THE USA, but elsewhere, hmmmmmm......
