The TurboSIM trick should only work on v1 SIM cards. Most SIM cards in the market today are v2 or v3. So don't rush out and buy the TurboSIM just yet until you've done your ground work and also have the guts to cut up your current SIM. My 2 cents. Btw, the battery heats up the back of the iPhone pretty hot after > 30 mins non-stop use. My only main gripe so far. Oh yeah, and that stupid recessed headphone jack that won't fit any other headphones/earbuds besides the iPod earphones. Sorry that's two complaints. Need to buy something like this to use with existing earphones: http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/headphoneadapter/ Added on August 14, 2007, 7:50 pmQUOTE(7thlovechild @ Aug 1 2007, 12:43 PM) i too had the chance to play with it... here's my little ' review' Hi, u're the dude from 1 Utama's MacAsia? I was the one who bought the iPod socks from u. Haha what a small world indeed. This post has been edited by terranova: Aug 15 2007, 11:11 AM

The reason why the SIM cloning only works with V1 compliant SIM cards is that you need to extract your KI and for that you cannot extract such information from V2 or V3 cards. Cloning your SIM card is, of course, illegal.
With Turbo SIM, you are not cloning your card and you do not need to extract your KI which is your Key Identifier. That information belongs to your mobile service provider and it would be also questionable for you to extract that.
Turbo SIM was not conceived to hack the iPhone. It's an old legitimate SIM Toolkit that allows you to add functionality to your SIM. The guys at iPhone WIKI found out that the iPhone calls for the IMSI of AT&T SIM twice only when the phone boots up. Someon then rode a program code that can be written to the Turbo SIM. This effectively allows the iPhone to access the IMSI of the AT&T SIM card twice and then switch you to your local mobile service provider. It acts as a somewhat proxy switch. You do not do anything to your local mobile SIM card. You program the IMSI of AT&T into the TurboSIM and use it together with your mobile SIM.
Having said that, my advice is to wait for another week or so, follow the threads on it, then make your own decision. And you cut a small notch of the plactic part of yur SIM up to ensure the Turbo SIM sits flush. Your Sim with this notch is still usable, without the Turbo SIM.

Bladox, closed their eShop after receiving too many orders for their TurboSim. I wonder how long will it takes for China or Taiwan to come up with a cheaper replica? Meantime, back to the waiting game for the iPhone Dev Team. http://www.bladox.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=550

how can it be 2.9k if it's only approx USD600 in US? Tax? If that's the case I would rather ask my friend from US to send it over or something. That's like RM1k difference.

i've asked the sales man in apple's outlet, he mentioned that the iphone is coming out by the end of this year, after chritmas (or maybe after new year , january that is) price will be at 3k ringgit. BlueHeng, u do know our goverment loves taxes right? lol.
And apple announced yesterday, there will be a limited edition of iphone.
Is iphone unlockable in MAS? i am planing to get it from Hong Kong though
