QUOTE(76radius @ Jan 15 2007, 01:24 AM) How about this bright future image:2008 ... Japan, Korea uninterested in iFon (new legal name) because impossible to use with local systems, and only old technology .... Apple cannot get any Asian Telcos to agree to selling only locked units.... Asian market written off, with any others who do not lock phones to licensed telcos... No Apple iFon sold in Malaysia. Cheap Chinese GSM look-alikes flood market. Yes, the iPhone is very important & revolutionary FOR THE USA, but elsewhere, hmmmmmm...... 111 |

QUOTE(oneeleven @ Jan 19 2007, 08:33 PM) their main target are, ipod users (those craving for wide screen ipod video), apple and mac lovers... their communication technology (wifi, gms based etc) might be old compare to japan and korea, but the user interface, operation system, and ease of use do shows/prove something new, revolutionary |

QUOTE iPhone Accused of Copycatting Korean Model By Kim Tae-gyu Staff Reporter The iPhone of Apple Computer is allegedly a clone of a handset made by the Seoul-based LG Electronics, the world's fifth-largest cell phone manufacturer. An info-tech Web site Engadget (www.engadget.com) yesterday said that the iPhone is very similar to the LG KE850, which has a moniker of the ``Prada phone.'' While comparing looks and touch-sensitive keypads of the two models with big pictures, the site asks for responses from readers on their similarities. ``Two sparsely-buttoned large, touch screen phones: the Apple iPhone and the LG KE850. Separated at birth, or possible lawsuit No. 2 for Apple? You decide,'' the site briefly introduces the pictures. What Engadget means was that if LG sues Apple over patent infingement, it would be the second lawsuit against the iPhone after its long awaited release. As soon as Apple boss Steve Jobs revealed the iPhone last week, U.S. network company Cisco Systems filed a lawsuit against Apple, claiming trademark rights on the iPhone. Many Internet users, who uploaded postings at the Engadget site, admitted the looks and user interfaces of the two devices are strikingly similar _ they are both rounded, black rectangles with a big touch screen in the middle. LG Electronics also thinks the two gadgets are almost identical but the company seems undecided as to whether or not to cry foul against Apple through court action. ``At first glance, we recognized the iPhone shares many form factors with the Prada phone. We are flattered that other makers follow our design policy,'' LG spokesman Lee Hyoung-kun said. ``We can't say at the moment whether or not we will file a lawsuit against Apple regarding this. It's too early to make remarks on the issues,'' Lee said. Experts predict that if the two phones share functionalities on top of looks, LG might file a complaint. LG has yet to reveal specifications of the Prada phone, which the firm looks to market soon. Yet, its exterior was shown to the public when it won the International Forum Design Product Design Award for 2007. Apple plans to launch the iPhones in June in the United States and months later in Europe. How come so many companies out there wanna attack Apple so badly? Just weeks after launched, got so many problems. How are they gonna survive and cope with those problems for another 4-5months?
...and boy they're patented! What's your excuse! |

tat LG against iPhone? it seems very unlikely that LG will win... it doesnt seems very same to me..
everything is a copy of another.. or do other phone hv to make the screen in triangle shape so tat it doesnt look the same as other.. how about those slim version against moto razr... just another tactic for LG to tumpang popularity at the moment maybe.. |

The iPhone has not hit the stores yet, but there are some companies already started to make their accessories. I wonder does iPhone comes with a screen protector or a case for protection.

watching steve jobs demo iphone in his keynote, i can say that it can surpass other smartphones. it really great and simple.
there's one where steve jobs search nearest starbucks using google map, then he took the starbuck phone number and make prank call. lol. he was like " i want 4000 latte please. sorry, just kidding. wrong number. bye". i wish there will be google map for malaysia when the iphone comes out here. |

it leaves finger prints on the device ( or smudge if you prefer) but it can be 'easily' wiped off.
as for games, most ppl predict that it will have ipod games in it. 3rd party app games? that one, a bit more difficult la |
