27 inch at 1080p - better don't get that.  It would look terrible on it and 1440p will be a much suited resolution at this size.  icon_idea.gif

1440p at 27 inch is perfect biggrin.gif

But hard to get new ones for his price.

Nowadays, there are a few options for 24 inch 1440p and 27 inch 4K.

TV is not suitable for gaming because
1. Colour - TV colour is normally worse than monitors
2. Response time - Normally TV has much higher response time, so for playing games you will feel the "lag"
3. Lower lifetime - from my own experience TV usually break down much quicker than monitors, in fact I never have any monitors that become faulty before while the living room had already gone through 2 or 3 TVs

My experience:

1. Colour - Maybe. To me, I can't really tell that much difference.
2. Response time - To some extent yes, can feel some form of lag but usually negligible.
3. Please elaborate.

I am currently using a TV as a monitor for more than 3 years. Should I expect it break down in the next few months? Many of my friends owned TV which lasted more than 5 years so I am quite confused. Even my dad's plasma TV is still working for more than 7 years.

The older thicker LCD TVs.
This is based on personal experience.
Depends on luck, I suppose.
Any HDD I own never last more than 2 years.

But do you ever see a monitor break down?
