These few weeks, my WiFi has been dropping every hour or so and I have to restart my modem in order to get the WiFi working back. No lights blinking in red or whatsoever when it disconnects. It happens usually at night at about 10pm - 1am. After that it won't drop or disconnect anymore. I turn my modem off in the morning by the way.
I have called the Maxis technician to check but he couldn't find any error or fault. His logic was "at night maybe more users so speed slowed down compared to day time". Why the hell I'm paying for 20mbps to share with other users?
Also, my normal speedtest result is usually 20mbps during day or night. While the technician was here, the result bumped to 40mbps! Event at that particular night it was at 40mbps. The day after that, speedtest results dropped to 20mbps. Do technicians purposely "open up" the speed when servicing clients?
Any idea what's happening to my internet?
