Noob question.

Can cashback be used together with credit card discount?

I want to buy this:

http://www.lazada.com.my/microsoft-lumia-6...08958.html?mp=1

http://www.gemfive.com/my/microsoft-lumia-650-16gb-white

RM799 on Lazada with free powerbank. RM699 on GemFive without free anything.

Supposedly there's a 20% discount code right now for GemFive? Then it'd be RM559.

For Lazada I'll be using my Maybank credit card. Not sure how much discount I can get with Shopback? Bear in mind, on Lazada it comes with a free powerbank.

yes, why not

Hmm.. so Shopback for Microsoft Phone is 6%, correct? https://www.shopback.my/microsoft

Total Maybank card discount plus shoback = 16%.

RM671 on Lazada with free powerbank VS RM559 on GemFive.

Hahaha, I think I go with GemFive. Try and see the code can work or not first.

Seller TMTOnline on GemFive is Thundermatch, right? I'm worried they ship the Single-SIM model. I need the Dual-SIM model.

Hmm.. why Lazada and GemFive don't have contact seller feature?

Talk about the device a bit

Many said 640 > 650, although looks less attractive

Plus webe can be used with 640/xl lte, this one cannot
*
Webe is a radio station? Never heard before? But why is the 640 considered better?

I've seen camera comparison pictures and the 650 camera looks better.

Any cheap 4G Android 6 phone you recommend for the same price?

Had a really bad experience with Android 4. Plus, if I switch back to Android, I'll have to give up Live Tiles and the integration with Windows 10 PC.

No, it's the only telco in malaysia to offer unlimited data

And the 640 and 950 are the only phone Microsoft include so many bands, including the needed band 5

Usual bands are 1,3,7,20 iinm

Not even 550 and 650 have them, that is what puzzles me

Do check on the forums for their reasons, just search 640 vs 650

Oh ya, 640 and 640xl uses diff camera

Make sure the phone has lte, got 640 without lte
*
Webe is invitation only? I'm not a TM customer at the moment.

Why is band 5 needed?

redmi note 3 pro ap set is within ur budget, its depend on ur preference also, i think most of the wm apps will no longer get supported by developer
*
Redmi Note 3 is Android 5 only?

Ahh.. the irony is the official Microsoft Malaysia store is on Lazada but Lazada doesn't have a Windows app. sweat.gif

Luckily I can still emulate Android on PC using Bluestacks.

I'm phobic of Android, man. Will Android 6 lag like Android 4? Will I have to root it? Does Xiaomi do asshole things like block certain settings or prevent you from moving apps?

I really love Live Tiles on W10M and the intuitive way of getting around the OS.

*
Haha, yeah. That's why I'm hoping the GemFive code works.

I'm really noob. Why is band 5 needed? Just for Webe?

So you recommend I go with 640XL instead of 650?

And I'm reading halfway through the Webe thing.. it seems to tether the connection and share it you have to pay extra? Huh?

"The ceo was being ridiculous by stating fast internet is not a necessary when in fact it is in modern telecommunicTion landscapes. Maybe they know their LTE isn't as fast as others by riding on 850mhz frequency band.. " http://www.soyacincau.com/2016/06/30/webes...ing/#more-87057

Huh.. another less attractive point..

I've seen those major Telco speed test, yes they are fast up to 100mbps but the quota is limited

Maybe the ceo points that that speed with small quota is not as good as lesser speed but unlimited quota
*
But I need to be an existing TM customer. That means monthly, I'll be paying a lot, IF I get an invitation. For now, Webe doesn't suit me.

Alamak.. I need a Citibank or HSBC card for GemFive.

Currently reading comparison for 650, 640XL and 640 on Microsoft's website.

The price for 640XL is the same as 650 on Lazada.

And I really like the design of the 650. And 5.7 inch for the 640XL seems too big for me.

Bro, do you know whether the 650 sold in Malaysia is Dual-SIM? According to Microsoft's website it is Dual-SIM. So, if the phone comes with local manufacturer warranty, it is Dual-SIM, right? Or maybe I should wait until tomorrow to call them up and see? TMTOnline is Thundermatch, right? The same company that handles the Lazada Microsoft store?

Edit: The 650 doesn't have double-tap to wake. sweat.gif

Band 5 for webe, band 38/40 for yes

Webe don't want you to use it as home internet, that's why they put conditions on certain situations

The price of unlimited

Anyway, I recommend you to do further searching on 640 and 650, as 640 also eligible for win10, plus they are cheaper since the device is older
*
Microsoft's website state's that the 650 has 850 MHz?

Hey bro, can the 650 be used for Digi's 4G or not?

"Our 4G LTE network is running on the 1800 Mhz (Band 3) and 2600MHz spectrum (Band 7)."

650's supported bands:

Band 5 (850 MHz), Band 8 (900 MHz), Band 1 (2100 MHz)

Edit: Oh.. ok. Upon further reading, 650's supported LTE band:

Band 8 (900MHz), Band 20 (800MHz), Band 1 (2100 MHz), Band 3 (1800 MHz), Band 7 (2600 MHz)

Well the phone is certified with webe, so if you use it you only pays rm140+ tax later when it's open to public

Anyway since you made up your mind,  yes dual sim, company refers to 1st page

Try getting discount as many as possible

I remembered buying Lumia 830 at rm680 last year due to bank discount, now the % is getting less
*
I'm still reading the 650 VS 640XL comparison lol. Gosh.. If I don't find a Citibank or HSBC card I'll rugi 20% discount. cry.gif

735 seems nice too. But I don't know whether this one is LTE or 3G? http://www.lazada.com.my/nokia-lumia-735-l...ey-9021633.html

You are a Windows Mobile user too? rclxms.gif Or you switch to Android already? karlsson recommended me Redmi Note 3. Is it good? It's Android 5 only, right? I ask him whether will lag like Android 4? he no reply. sad.gif

Hmm.. 640XL does have a better camera and it seems to be faster. http://allaboutwindowsphone.com/features/i...640_vs_Lumi.php

But it's huge...

And the 650 has twice the ROM which means the 640XL might have problems getting updated in the future.

Ah, sorry, phone battery dies

Lumia 735 has single sim LTE only

I use win 8.1 on 830, win10 on 525 just for testing, and cheap android for some apps

If you depends on google service or you need some apps, maybe try searching android with at least 2gb ram. Xiaomi I can't say, didn't use it. But you can search on this forum under android and see what their review on it
*
I rarely use Android apps. rclxm9.gif Luckily, I've been able to emulate Android on Windows PC for the rare moments when I need to use an Android app, like Lazada. biggrin.gif

Hmm.. Can't decide whether 640XL or 650..

If I can lend a Citibank card, the 650 will be RM110 cheaper on GemFive than the 640XL on Lazada (assuming I can get Shopback). I guess that justifies the lower spec compared to 640XL. Too bad 640XL is unavailable on GemFive.

If you used to win 8.1, using win 10 might disappoint you

Hamburgers menu instead of the intuitive pivot menu

So if you get 640/xl, you are free to revert to 8.1 it you don't like win 10

But if you use 650, no turning back

Anyway, do research before deciding
I've been using Win10 on my 535 for months. Not disappointed by the menus, but there are some bugs that Microsoft hasn't fixed which disappoints me.

Keke.. I was just joking.

Thanks for all the info, man. Thanks.

I didn't know about Webe also until you shared it with me. But sorry la, Webe is too expensive for me at the moment. And 650 has Band 5 actually, so maybe in the future can use 650 to get Webe discount?
