In short : Pro > mtk

Redmi 3 is also fine but with 5" screen and lower spec but no official xiaomi Malaysia set.

OR you can get Redmi 3 Pro with 3gb/32gb + fingerprint support.

But currently no stock for Malaysia set. There are some shops that have Malaysia stock but markup untill RM1k from rm850

Local set preinstalled with official global rom + warranty covered by xiaomi Malaysia.
Ap set preinstalled with vendor rom(full of ads and tahi)  but can still reflash to official global rom if you follow the steps properly + warranty covered by shop.
The specs are all the same except as stated above.
