Boycott this brand. People don't fall into these trap until their marketing team sort out the spec on par with what the advanced countries getting.

Totally agree with you. This Co keeps dumping out dated tech on us. Yes I support this boycott and all Malaysian should.

- stop dumping out dated technology on us
- stop taking Malaysians for fools!

Guys, would you go for a Mitsubishi Outlander or a Kia Sorentom and why? Need a 7 seater SUV. Appreciate your views.

I also considering both. Not sure which one to choose.
Currently outlander discounted kow2 up to 9 k - salesman told me. The main problem Outlander has only one aircond blower. Not suitable for our climate. One of my friend bought this car n have to use usb fan. Outlander from afar look like a wagon to me rather than SUV.

Already test drive sorento diesel n petrol. Diesel cekap with full of torque but with almost no feature suggestive of a 150k car.
Petrol i think not so powerful. The engine is theta ii 2.4 mpi not the GDI type of engine that i think more powerful. I am contemplating to choose either diesel or petrol MS. I have done little research.Maintainence for 150k km the petrol maintainence is lesser by 3k.

I think if they follow full US spec, price will skyrocket. The problem with our country we are paying more than what we get. Anyway, waiting for better spec 2.2L diesel if ever to consider the sorento. Waiting for the Sedona first to see how is the spec & price.

Your point is precisely correct. There needs to be a balance between the selling price and the specs in order to cater for the mass market. From a manufacturer's point of view and business model, it is not viable to sell a fully spec-ed car equipped with the latest technology at a very high price, only to sell for limited quantities, which may not even justify the marketing cost.

Sorento HS is voted the Best Spec-ed SUV in Malaysia by Carsifu recently. Surely that speaks volume of what Kia Malaysia has offered for our market compared to other makes. Our country's exchange rate has not help much in this respect. It is easy to blame the manufacturer and accuse them of many things but they are far from the truth.

Those 2 are actually disclaimers
1) Naza Kia deserves the right to void or revoke the scheme if any of the other terms and conditions are breached. This is a common and fair statement.

2) Naza Kia deserves to discontinue the scheme without prior notice, which simply means, Naza Kia has the right to terminate/withdraw the offer at any time they want. At the moment, the offer is valid for new Sportage and Sorento purchased and registered from now until 31st December 2016. In event of a withdrawal of the scheme, all buyers who have placed their booking and registered their cars prior to the withdrawal date will STILL get this privilege. It doesn't mean to say that they deserve to cancel the whole scheme, irrespective of what has been committed for buyers who have already bought the cars, at the point the offer is still valid. Once the buyers enter into a contract, they are legal binding and a certificate will be issued to them.

Hope that explains. Thanks

What's the fuel consumption like for 2.4 petrol version? Will Kia Malaysia offer the grey colour as the standard colour anytime soon?

KIA did not officially provide the FC figures, however this is what I got from the internet. Again, final FC depends on driving traits and road conditions, as such, this data is only an indication of the FC.

City 10.3 liter/100 km
Highway 7.5 liter/100 km
Combine 9.0 liter/100 km

Grey is unlikely to be introduced for Malaysian market. Kia Malaysia might launch the bronze color instead, but this is likely to happen only next year.

Damn sad. The diesel version should at least be offered as mid spec. I wouldn't hesitate to buy the diesel version if the specs are better. Features such as electric seat, electric tailgate, reverse camera, bluetooth connectivity, spare tyre are not included for the diesel version. I don't mind the rim size nor the fabric seat but the ones I listed are important to most potential buyers out there.

The diesel version was originally targeting those Pick-up upgraders, hence the price had to be set competitive and not too high. Kia Malaysia may introduce a higher variant for the diesel next year, so do stay tuned for updates.

Pleased to hear that Kia Malaysia will intro the higher variant for the diesel version next year. I hope the price will remain competitive and will not be as high as the current Santa Fe diesel version. Please PM me once you have any update regarding this new variant.

There is info/indication from KIA Malaysia that prices for Sorento and Sportage may increase by around 3K next year for year make 2017. Not sure what the final outcome is going to be, but for those who are considering to get the car but waiting for 2017 year make, this is something for you to ponder on.
