apparently it will sell later than GTX1080. So have to wait longer, maybe a month or so..

2830 for reference version/founders edition (one local retailer already taking orders) for GTX 1080 ...
"normal" edition by MSI, Asus (those with big big fans, lights etc) should be cheaper (for 1080) ... 1070 ?? hopefully half to 3/4 of that price ?? |

website say 970 can win 780. but benchmark also lose to 780. Dont think 7 series can win 8 series version. 1070 can win 970 but not 980.

Those who now using 970 and still have 1year at least warranty. You can still owned a 1070 , just goto youtube find how to kill your gpu method. Make sure they stop production this june. Coz All GPU manufacturer now stop production on 980 chipset. Then follow this method and If u're lucky enough , u'll get a 1070 RMA back. So this is 1 method to get a 1070

Most gaming benchmark , GTX 970 > GTX 780 not GTX 780Ti
People prefer gtx 970 due to lower power consumption & better overclocking room. I can give you an example why gtx 970 > gtx 780 There's a lot of debate about both cards, and still gtx 970 more superior. http://www.anandtech.com/bench/GPU14/815 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zgbvqWpJAhY This post has been edited by squall2301: May 18 2016, 10:38 PM |

so basically if you want a card which is better at benchmarks = 780
if you want a card which is better at gaming = 970 benchmark fun i guess lel. |

newer games actually have additional features that older gpu don't supports and therefore may score higher on benchmark program test but lower fps on latest games.
Older gpu may have better computing power (depends on model example 780 n 780ti) But overall u need to consider the monitor used, cpu and games played. Their benchmark were not tested consistently on those videos and so it should be used as a rough guide. This post has been edited by ngkahyen: May 23 2016, 09:55 AM |

QUOTE(Topet @ May 23 2016, 06:55 PM) I use i7 2600 and still don't see any bottleneck. The only thing I upgrade frequently is my graphic card. You should use monitoring program like Afterburner, to monitor the usage of your CPU, GC, RAM, VRAM, so you can tell which caused the bottleneck if any. I am currently using R9 390.Sandy/Ivy Bridge i7 CPU will hardly bottleneck any latest GC today, unless the game you're playing is really intensive on CPU. But most of the time, CPU intensive games aren't GPU intensive. Even so, you should be at higher than 60 FPS with any CPU intensive game. |

With your specification, 3770K + 1070 on 1080P is already overkill enough. You should be fine for few more years, and can max out most if not all games out there (excuse the bad optimized ported games tho) . |

Been thinking of buying 970 but everyone keep saying wait a little bit more. If you're coming from 6850 to GTX970 you actually will already see a massive performance bump. But going to the 1070 from 6850 is crazy man. You'll be happy if you do so, trust me.Thanks for the share Samurai. Impressive. Can't wait for this thang. I'm hoping the price on release, is going to be the same or a little bit expensive than GTX970 at launch. It's a still a steal nonetheless. I mean, faster than Titan X, while being a lot cheaper? Does GTX 1070 as fast as the Titan X? I bet you can run this card in 4K in a single card and extremely good VR performance.

Oh, the sweet, sweet tears of my tennis buddy who was strutting and boasting about the GTX 980 Ti he bought less than 3 months ago.
He's still in denial about the fact that the GTX 1070 will outperform his baby for a fraction of the price he paid.. but hey, at least it will still colour-coordinate with the rest of his rig Now, let's see if Computex will reveal how the first set of Polaris cards compare with the current GTX 960 and 970, on both price and performance. |

i believe Nvidia will phase out the 7xx and 9xx series after 10xx release, which means no more new stock
speaking of bottle-necking, will my current setup carries 1070 performance just nice? coming from a 670 card: i5 3450 P8Z77-M corsair GS600 |

QUOTE(Vannus @ May 31 2016, 08:24 AM) Yes. Just like how everyone else is looking to go wide with their monitors, in VR the monitor is infinitely wide horizontally and vertically. Graphics intensive games on VR is still yet to come, so even the 970 can power most of the VR experiences. Only three games exists so far that really looks as graphically impressive as traditional games: "The Climb" by Crytek(powered by CryEngine) where you play a mountain climber, Eve Valkyrie (augmented reality element so real, you wanna stretch out and touch it!) and Project Cars (they've injected the VR element into it during racing, and it is punishing graphics to do both VR headset lenses at high enough quality, that I can only do pCars at 1080p Medium, while I can do pCars at 4K60 on traditional gaming on a monitor with my GTX1080). |

Would 1080p high fps 144hz monitor still relevant for 1070? Or shud look into at least a 1440p monitor if using this card. From ultra 1440p benchmark there is still several high end game that 1070 card sitting average at 40 to 50 which may make the game experience a bit lag no? Though most of the game played comfortably in 1440p but game are getting more and more detailed. If u hav the 1070 card Would u prefer to move to 1440p or stay at high frame 1080p in gaming

GTX 1070 now seling for RM2400-2600!
That's insane. current GTX 970 can go as low as 1400 and is a saner choice. |

However, i7-3770k is optimized for PCI-express 3.0. It is good enough to support GTX1070. |

Dear TS, you can buy it from lelong.my now. I was just pre-ordered a MSI GTX1070 Gaming 8X from a seller "gamehypermart". He is the only seller who selling custom GTX1070 graphic card. I was waited this model for few days already since GTX1070 was firmly launched at 10th June 2016. I got thinking to preorder in taobao through buyforme forwarder agent but very unsure how long to ship from China to Malaysia. Besides, I'm worrying about the warranty in China does not works in Malaysia here. If I buy from Malaysia, at least I can request RMA from Idealtech. They did offers RMA service no matter which local sellers I buy from.
The seller claim that MSI GTX1070 Gaming 8X eta 17 June 2016. So I was immediately pre-ordered it first. They should deliver it at next week. Ok, somebody got ask why Non-FE is almost same price with FE. Actually I did search through the MSI GTX1070 graphic cards in taobao.com. It is just only 100 Chinese Yuan cheaper than founder edition. Without any suspicions, just preorder it because the Non-FE has better cooling system and better OC specification. This post has been edited by junclj: Jun 15 2016, 10:11 AM |

Actually the price which provided by gamehypermart is not considered too expensive. This is Gaming X model by MSI. The performance of this graphic card is better than founder edition.
So far I can't find any others brand available in Malaysia. However, the Asus GTX1070 Strix ROG is expected to sell more expensive than the MSI GTX1070 Gaming X 8G. The price for Asus GTX1070 Strix ROG is expected to sell at RM2,489. Since the conversion is based on the official price from Asus China in TMall.com. For me, I definitely will choose the MSI graphic cards because it is high quality and cheaper than Asus. I'm used to be an Asus fans but since I got bad experience with Asus motherboard. Now I was changed everything to MSI. I am MSI fans now, that's why if you wait for it, soon all the new arrival cards will be selling at higher price. |

Another seller techview was selling custom Zotac GTX1070 AMP Edition for price RM2,219 just RM130 cheaper than the custom MSI GTX1070 Gaming X 8G.
However, the price is too high, above RM2k. |

I've seen Palit GTX1070 goes for 2K. Never used this brand before. Do get bad experience with Giggabyte GTX590. Would Asus, EVGA safe bet?? anyway by the time RX480 out I think 1070 would ease on the demand.

QUOTE(junclj @ Jun 16 2016, 11:14 AM) Actually the price which provided by gamehypermart is not considered too expensive. This is Gaming X model by MSI. The performance of this graphic card is better than founder edition. Bear in mind, I saw the same seller on 11street.my selling this card, but he mentioned that it only has 1 year warranty. It might be that they only cover 1 year warranty but manufacturer's warranty should be 3 years. I did PM them to mention about MSI's 3 year warranty, but they still replied that the card only had 1 year warranty. There's a chance it might be non-local unit / parallel import, which could be problematic if u need to claim from MSI Malaysia. |
