I had a conversation with the ASNB mobile staff regarding to invest online through bank. He said only ASB can the rest cannot. I am confused now. So does online banking can do the investment for ASM,ASWand AS1M or not?

If top up at asnb hq no need letter only can't update the passbook. If with Surat wakil can update on behalf

Need surat wakil. Some banks are not fussy and allow anyone to topup.

Been trying to open as1m at octopus bank few times.. not even 100u...

My local Affin bank required signed 'wakil' form with IC copy.

Usually during my top up each time, ill ask the banker whether i can open as1m. Just trying my luck at the same time as my current two books still long way to go to reach target.

No, They kept the form as a bank record. I can just walk in any time with my family passbook and he'll deduct from my account or pay cash for any successful transaction.

Yes true and yes, only suitable for those who mentioned above.  For us working full time and not so free to go there frequently, memang wont work.  So sometimes I really wonder why some people so senang senang can get 4 figure or even 5 figure so easily.  Haha.  Cheers!

I didn't bring my passbook that time also. So they only give me a transaction slip and ask me to update the book 5 days later as for the cheque clearance

I believe luck and right timing is the keyword  . Like my case, it happen the van station is just near by my office for these 2 days and happen that my colleague want to buy as well and happen that she did bring along cheque book and happen that the units are available also. So I manage to borrow cheque from my colleague and get the units

After waiting for 2 hours, managed to open account and buy 3 digits for ASW2020 & AS1M and 4 digits for ASM !!

Hello everyone- SHARING time:-

Once we reached ASNB, long Q numbers but I decided to collect few numbers in between waiting. I only asked for 100u to open account.

We Q 8x from 11am- 2.30pm. Luckily he got
AS1M- 11.00+
ASM- 12.00+
ASW- 2.20pm.

Just about timing as others managed to get ASW during their time there.

Now that he got the passbook, the rest of the top up could be done back in my township.

Folks, I see a lot of talk here of personal targets for the ASX accounts (RM150k, RM200k etc), but any idea what are these personal targets (or recommendations) in terms of % of net worth ?

I currently have about 36% of NW in ASX. Personally I find it high in terms of concentration (but then again ASX is to my understanding a low risk, highly liquid and easily accessible investment).

Any thoughts from the experienced people here ? Would you go all the way say to 60% , 70 % of net worth in ASX?

By the way, when I was at ASNB, it happened the counter staff's computer (the only one affected) has some issues and it took her longer to check availability and to process opening of account.
It was unfortunate/ fortunate as my number was called to her counter 5-6x today. Luckily she was nice and still willing to check for me. For each successful opening, she has to 'wait' for the computer to 'process' and referred me to another counter if it took longer than usual.
Finally at 2.20pm, when sufficient units were available, she managed to open ASW for me but unable to process the form and passbook this time.
She had to enter it manually on the form and processed the new passbook on other counter for me.
I'm very grateful & thankful that she tried her best for us.

ASNB staff also said there were some issues last Friday and it did affect other bank system too at times.

Seem like a lot ppl selling asm. Yesterday another col went for 4 digit easily. Hmmm is it a sign....
