Good morning to everyone.

Is ASNB still operating regular hours during Ramadan month? My bank staff did mentioned he 'll leave earlier as he'll skip 'lunch' but I'm yet to reconfirm with him.

Will still need to look for ASW to balance my targeted ratio between the 3 accounts but not in hurry. All allocated $ are in the current accounts and just need some buy/ sell, sell/ buy at ex dividend day.

Today is a good day.

Auntie twinkle tried bank at 11:00+ on way out to Subang and only got $1k- ASW.
On my way home, dropped by to check again at 13:00+ and straightaway 5 digits ASW. Unfortunately no $$ left in the bank account.
Officially all my Fd $ (matured on 29/5/16) are inside ASX.

My neighbourhood young auntie also managed to get 5 digits ASM and her account is also dry now.

Wait for last FD batches in July, then Auntie PB status will disappear too but those $ not for ASX.

Must identify which bank has the nicest & helpful staff too.
No point going multiple times if they only try 1 x only. If you tell them 10k, they will try 10k with no 2nd attempt to try lower limit.

Nope. There are many other baskets beside ASX. ASx are extras. Can survive without ASX dividends. Plan to reduce AS1m & ASM after ex dividend.

Nope. Just enough saving for early retirement. Live a simple life. The more you earn the more you spend.

For me, I 'blacklisted' THE BANK instead! including withdrawing all my $$ out.

Luckily my ASX journey is getting shorter each day. No need to try other banks any more.

You're still young. Many more years for you to contribute to ASX.

It's nice when they keyed in the amount you want and it turned out successful as what had happened to me today. Didn't expect to hit off straightaway. I was joking with bank staff that 'could it be my lucky day?' and it went thru.. I was just contemplating whether I should try or not as I was driving towards home and somehow, the car 'moved' towards the bank

No not me. But someone else shared this story. Must check back who posted it.

Initially, I was one of those who'd always walking around with cash from bank to bank as I don't have any account with them except MBB. But I need to try all the other 3 banks if MBB not successful as they're so strict and said 1 x attempt only.
Each time I withdraw cash / 1' brick', I'd always 'scanned' upon entry & exit of the bank. Yes , auntie twinkle is always in shorts, T shirt with sandals & tongkat umbrella. The 1 'brick' is always in regular worn out shopping bag.
Now, I've an account with the bank & used IBG instant transfer, occasionally still carry extra cash as IBG online can transfer only max $50k/ day.
With majority of $ are in ASX accounts & limited $$, no more 'brick' to carry around.

As long as you're willing to try and re Q if insufficient units, I'm sure you can open on any day at ASNB as there are people selling/ buying every day. As I'd shared my experience before, we Q 1st time, no units and we re Q 2nd time (15mins later) and managed to get ASM. 30mins later, we re Q again and managed to get ASW. All in same day. There is no right time to go. All depend on luck & plenty of patience.

For myself, I'd managed to get ASM & AS1M straight away too without multiple Q. I was in & out ASNB <30mins for AS1M opening + top up.


Yes, it was my project to complete the transfer of cash from FD to ASx as soon as possible.


I'd opened my accounts at ASNB, Shah Alam & they're very busy on Monday & Friday. It was just longer wait for me but I still managed to get ASM with only 1 Q. All depend on luck. You only need 1 orange form to open the 3 accounts. Just tell the staff try whichever is available 1st and you'll re Q later. If you see many people there, just wait 10mins and get another number. At least it'll be another 10-15mins wait for next try. If still no units, try and re Q. Don't go too early as majority sellers/ buyers don't wake up too early to go to banks.

Update:- ASW top up

Am- 2 small transactions- 4 digits & 3 digits

Pm- 2 transactions- 5 digits + 5 digits.

My ASW is only 2/3rd to reaching my personal target now.
