QUOTE(J-Slade @ Jan 8 2007, 09:39 PM) I've often wondered..... how do we become a moderator? Taken from FAQ page : » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « How do I get a promotion?
There are no real set guidelines on promotion of members. However, a few loose rules we have in place guide us in our task.
Generally speaking, Elite and VIP tags are given out by members of the moderating team, upon the proposal of a fellow moderator. At least 2 moderators have to agree to any promotion, with no objections from any other moderator.
You may not apply to be an Elite or VIP member, but you may suggest another forumer whom you feel is worthy of the tag. Like any special title, we take a great deal of pride in giving it out, and it is only given to those whom we feel truly deserve it. It can be revoked at any time, usually if the forumer contravenes the rules, or is no longer active in the community.
As for moderator tags, you may apply to be a moderator. However, the vast majority of moderators are offered the post. We generally notice the good posters, and responsible members but if you have a grand idea for the forums, and would like to help us implement it as a moderator, you are welcomed to PM one of the admin members regarding it.
Moderators are selected based on responsible postings and substantial contributions on the boards.
Staff members are promoted from the pool of moderators. We do not accept recommendations for promotions to Staffs.
In general, all members of the moderating team contribute to the betterment of the forums as a whole in discussing policy and board improvements. This post has been edited by hardyboyz888: Jan 8 2007, 09:46 PM
