hi guys, 1st timer here using kodi. basically after i install kodi on my laptop i can straight away watch the movies / tv series that are available? or is kodi similar to netflix thingy? tqvm.

is it me or opensubtitles and subscene not working anymore?

Anyone here using trakt? i have install it but when i open the "my movies" on exodus, it mentioned no trakt connection. Do i need to set up something?

Covenant no hd or 1080p movie source. A lot of movies can't play. Expert here any idea?

Torrent is kinda alive you know. Take a visit to one of the working torrent web, 1337x.to and you'll find yourself amaze with the seeders. Hehe. It's just majority are more to streaming now and people that do not know how torrent works also exist. I still torrent for games and apps

Try Elementum. Find it more stable than Quasar

Couldn't resolve magnet link could also mean there were no links for the chosen title OR could mean something else too. If you want to give Elementum another go? I'd suggest a factory reset, ensure your device's ROM is latest.. Flash a better custom if you have too (I'm running a custom ATV ROM). Take note to install the "All-in-one" zip rather than the platform specific variants. Before doing, wait until Kodi has updated all of it's core addons. Exit properly, reboot the system and install again. Burst should prompt for installation afterwards, else same thing applies, install the "All-in-one" version. Might resolves the issue.
You should try Elementum again... Recently reinstalled the latest on a fresh system and zero stability issues till date. So I've relegated Quasar to second best p2p addon. Besides, Elementum is more updated... Now different device and running custom ATV ROM though. Kodi library integration and auto-sync with Trakt works flawlessly too.

your quasar still running on kodi 17 or running in kodi leia?

ya did that twice with device reboot between it. and Quasar was disabled before i install Elementum.

but Elementum is more updated, that's why thought of trying.
i tried the same title with Quasar and it was fine.
had been using an enhanced ROM from freaktab for years. no more updates for the old Alfawise H96Pro+
it actually could connect to the providers to get the magnet link but couldn't resolve it with or without VPN.
i think i installed the specific version instead of all-in-one. will try again with all-in-one when i'm free.
all my shenanigans with Elementum happened in Dec 2019. agreed that it works flawlessly with Trakt and faster than Quasar too.

Kodi 18.x... 18.6 now... whatever, works fine.

This shouldn't be... Your device still the Alfawise H96Pro+ running a custom fw? I've setup several more recent boxes, multiple variations of custom ROMs and mods, etc... And in each instance, no issue simply installing the latest Kodi from Play Store and all-in-one Elementum zip.. Simply works.. No VPN required..Also afaik, no isp throttling applied either.

Dude, I'm using Elementum as well, this is what I did when I had the same issues like you. In the Burst configuration you need to disable proxy and choose the ones has the Google DNS and etc. I cannot remember the exact options and this works for me flawlessly. On my router I'm using Quad9 DNS.

Truly weird, cuz the both the Elementum & Burst addon seems to be working (cuz can search & offer available links...even download window pops out).. What ISP are you using though? Cuz on the router level, you seem to be doing alright. Have you got a PC or an Android phone? Try install Kodi and Elementum, using the same network.. See if it works without the VPN.

That's mean the main reason using vpn is for streaming without restrictions & not to avoid any hackers or legal issues?
