wouldn't it be easier just to keep all medias/games/movies/photos in android phone and stream it directly to tv with one of those miracast/ezcast/anycast/mirascreen ?
kodi is a very powerful app if u use the features to the full - incl 4k videos, hd audio, usb playback, LAN smb.with a box that is full fledged, kodi can be used to its max potential.
a phone thru casting will not will give u the same video and audio quality.
there are also other considerations - will consume yr phone memory; phone wear n tear with prolonged usage; ease of navigation/updates/maintenance; android box can a lot more than just kodi.

Hi guys,
1. I recently got my smart TV and have installed Kodi, now comes the daunting tasks of adding repo (repos) etc
Please share your experiences to help me out as I am overwhelmed at the amount of material to read and don't know where to start. I read the earlier thread and noticed I was getting lost in between superbuildware and installing other forks etc.
As I am using an Android TV, the material I read raises questions on my TV's RAM and storage space. I have a Sharp UE630X.
To those using Android TVs, please do guide me.
2. Also, please note that my current setup will be absolutely basic without any NAS. However, I want to make my browsing/typing experience better on the smart TV, so can anyone suggest which wireless mouse/keyboard are you guys using?
(Only spent few hours using the standard remote and have started to get annoyed already!)
if u have not used an android phone/tablet/box, it can be difficult for you as kodi is an easy app to get and install but not so easy to build and maintain. will take time, learn from a few mistakes, etc.1. but the way it works on yr androidtv is the same as other android devices.
i am on superboxbuild, happy with it. only that some addons need to be manually maintained at times, e.g. quasar and adriansupertv.
but i suggest for you, to get started, do not do superboxbuild as it is a big build, can be complex for new user. get a couple of popular repos/plugins like superrepo and adriansupertv to install some addons, build slowly. google for best repos, google for best plugins. if not sure how to install, watch youtube videos. all experienced users have googled like hell and watched at least a dozen videos about "how to" for various purposes.
there is a shortcut if u hv someone who knows how and can physically help u get what he has - get him to copy the folder org.xbmc.kodi from his kodi and paste it on yr kodi.
the tv u have has >9gb memory available, plenty of space, no worries.
