Totally different UI with Jarvis but I prefer the clean look of Krypton.

QUOTE(voncrane @ Apr 11 2017, 03:57 PM) Did use the free mode ... Then they came up with the premium model and started throttling/kicking folks out.. Waited awhile to see if it's just a fad.. Looks like it's not.. Pulled the trigger recently on premium and not regretting it at all.. Smooth almost instant playback and switching.. Mostly 720p and 1080p.. Zero buffering.. About 80% of the channel icons are present (makes it prettier I think I'll only purchase the premium during world cup & Olympic season. |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Apr 13 2017, 09:52 AM) Quasar made my box hang that day while loading a movie. That's another problem with Quasar. It will scan my ext drive HD everytime I open KODI. I have thousand of vid. Imagine how long everytime it takes. LOL That's why I don't use Quasar. |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Apr 13 2017, 10:50 AM) Can that be the cause? I'll try later Yes! I did set the download path. or maybe should I set the download path to my 32gb SD card? update: That't it. NO more scanning my ext drive vid on KODI startup. I set the download path to ext drive and library to SD card. So I'll keep the Quasar for the time being. THX btw! Quasar has update to v0.9.77 This post has been edited by OCMAX: Apr 13 2017, 11:10 AM |

QUOTE(voncrane @ Apr 13 2017, 11:18 AM) Good you've sorted it out... While catching up on new posts, was going to suggest you do what has been done to solve it.. Talk about devil. it started to scan the vid again. So now I set both download & Library to SD card. For others who may be experiencing issues using Quasar or other addons. Need to understand that, improperly setting up Kodi or its addons is simply a recipe for issues. Particularly when run on an incompatible firmware or device. There's a computer speak, "Garbage in = Garbage out".. Quasar, just like Kodi is an extremely simple yet complicated shell and requires the user to setup properly for best results. But I do agreed with you. Proper setting is a MOST . QUOTE(AVFAN @ Apr 13 2017, 03:00 PM) Watch the info box... u will know if it is working or not, working fast or slow. Looks like I'm not the only one felt Quasar is slow. Typically, popular and recent videos very good, old and not popular not so good, even dead. But if your broadband is no good, it will be poor. For 50mbps, the max speed i hv seen is 5.8MBps. |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Apr 13 2017, 03:54 PM) If u do unpopular videos with poor seeds n peers links, u will not like quasar. That's what exactly I normally does. I'll keep the drams/movies I like. The popular ones, u get a tv 1080p show to play within 20 secs and 100% done within 5 mins,.. can watch later at your own leisure. The best thing about quasar is you can keep the file if u wish. Which is what i do sometimes... those 15, 30gb ones. |

QUOTE(voncrane @ Apr 13 2017, 04:45 PM) Okay... While I can't claim to wrap my head around it any longer.. Seems like Quasar isn't for everyone.. through no fault of the addon.. Luckily, being Kodi.. we are blessed with other viable options.. Don't use Wifi with Quasar. Here's my experience; Specs: Minix Neo U1, 4ft CAT6 Gigabit Ethernet cable connected to a AC1200 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router (Yes, stock TM router), Custom DNS, IPv6 enabled 30Mbps Unifi, Krypton 17.1 (main) or latest SPMC version off the Play Store (Jarvis), No VPN, mix of public and private providers, 320MB cache size (RAM usage X3), pre-buffer amount set at 150MB, which is 100% complete in under a minute), Library & media stored purely on local eMMC storage.... TV & HT (ARC).. Assuming all is well with both addons.. no errors, etc... With the above, can very easily get around 3500+kBps on a well seeded file (has hundreds - thousands of connections). From last night, a title with very low seeds-peers ratio of 4/3 (HEVC file; these typically have lower seeders than H264 files), and even then, still able to get connected between 800 - 1700 kBps...easy. Can't wait to get the free bump to 50Mbps or that TIME moves into the building.. Expect even better results.. |

QUOTE(voncrane @ Apr 13 2017, 10:43 PM) You do.. In fact, many direct download sources are simply as the name implies..non-p2p. If using it for internal networking is difference because network transmission between TX/RX has to in-cooperate with the entire network (24/48) ports. ex: transmitting vid over 100gb over the intranet. Then giga-speed cables are required. Personally, I'd say with a gigabit router?? Minimum CAT5E... I believe even TM now ships with CAT6 or CAT6E cables for new 30Mbps+ installations. I have a few project used Cat-7 cables. SO far in Malaysia there is only a few company are able to invest in such infra. Those TM cat-6 cables are very low end cables.
