The play store does not even mention anything about bluetooth. Search the web page, there is only one instance of "bluetooth" in the webpage, but there is in the context of a user feedback mentioning that, after having this app, "No need to purchase any of those Bluetooth wireless touch pads".

Just go ahead to disable the bluetooth on the tvbox, instantly we can see that bluetooth is simply not needed.

Another thing is "searching server ....." thingie is just a waste of time, it did not manage to locate any server within the time ( possibly it is doing a one-by-one test within the subnet or sending IR code to detect compatible tvbox ).

The search result is always empty. Finally users still have to manually enter the IP address of the tv box to get things working.

I initially wrote my post without Bluetooth.. Just wifi. I edited it as the app overview/description mentioned:
QUOTE
This is a Smart iRemote Apps from Fustec Co., Ltd. It is an excellent to use with our IP Box / Dongle. We can help your unique contents and UI. This Apps not only works excellent on Androids OS, but also can porting to another solution platform. Our Apps is designed to work in our Smart TV Box.

Typically the words dongle and other OS platform, I assumed like windows, etc as there are remotes that work with multiple devices like that and are through the PC's internal Bluetooth or a Bluetooth dongle. Anyways, I prefer using a physical airmouse. smile.gif

Ok, as i mentioned it does requires pairing between the Android phone and the box via Bluetooth. Once paired one is able to navigate even on the home screen, not just in Kodi which is even better than Kore.

I tried switching off the Bluetooth at the phone and it doesn't work. I paired them once and able to navigate just now when I switched on the box to confirmed the above.

Not that it is important, and i wouldn't use this app anyway. But for academic reason, let's continue this discussion. Here there is a video :-

We are talking about the same app, right ?

Yes, we're talking abt the same app however mine was paired via Bluetooth using 6 digit pin instead of using ip address as per the video posted.

Main point wanna highlight is that with the app you'd be able to control the box

It's probably not within your control. You can only fix things within your control, such as congestion due to too many users in your house, or poor wifi connection, too many apps running in your tv box, too many ads, etc.

There are many of other reasons beyond your control.

How about a general type of setting?

My Android TV Box has 8GB RAM and it's still buffering. It is streaming over wifi and I understand that some buffering will be expected for this. However, I read that Kodi is designed to run on low spec devices so maybe some default setting on Kodi can be changed to take advantage on devices with more RAM? Not sure where this setting is though.

The issue for me is not so much the buffering but to see if my Kodi is optimized for the hardware it has~

Any comments are appreciated. cool2.gif

Beyond all these, you don't know what is the actual reasons for buffering. It could very likely due to the free websites have poor bandwidth available.

Firstly, while RAM size is important for Kodi, 8GB is simply way overkill and tells that it's either one of those random bs Android boxes or you actually meant ROM. My device has 2GB RAM and is more than sufficient. Other factors come into play, such as network health, server, device hardware + software combo and if it's Kodi friendly or not.

Try setting up a custom advancedsettings.xml for your Kodi installation. Might help. Read up on it.

with that unifi speed, u shud not get buffering in kodi covenant.
the videos in covenant are heavily ripped hd, not big files, like 1-3gb only.
try quasar... that speed u can even stream files up to 12gb.

i suspect u have not turned off hardware acceleration (surface) - find that in kodi settings/video.

Both repo & addon are fine.. See post #2 on page one for repo zip file. Uninstall or rollback whatever you've done, to avoid conflicts.. Install downloaded zip.
