Standalone apps streaming will be replacing Kodi.

I blame over-popularity and the recent explosion of "Kodi boxes"... Which forced Big Media to step in. Obviously, compared to a lone developer or small dev team, Big Media have world class lawyers and pretty much unlimited funds to fight. So when addon creators and or maintainers can no longer take the heat, they have to surrender..

Hi guys , I was stupid enough to buy a tvbox called 天猫魔盒 that run in YunOS. Currently icdrama was down hence i tried to download rss player in the tvbox. However it seems doesn't fit in the screen of it. Does anyone have any idea of RSS player in 天猫魔盒 (tianmao)？

what puzzle me is, this addon does not contain or hold any content. it just use any link available online. if this big tv firm want to take down this piracy thing, why not do it by go directly to the source itself...

Icdrama has been updated. Aznhusband released version 1.2.6.1 and it can be found here. I can confirm everything works. With the Icdrama thread on the Kodi forums closed, i hope cthlo and Aznhusband continue to update this app. Thanks Aznhusband!

Oh, they do go after the hosting providers, which is why we have dead links. But I guess that became too inefficient for them, as the "source" (hosting servers) can continue hosting their content and legally claim to have no idea what's being hosted on their servers and they can't chase their subscribers (true source) away as they depend on them for income. So not much Big Media can do there... Tactics switch... Since most people lack the tech know-how or couldn't be bothered to source content on other slightly hidden & questionably legal sources, and plus its so much easier nowadays to use addons... Kill the addon - Kill the access. It's not genius per se, just plain ol business strategy. I'd do the same if I were in their shoes..

Kodi doesn't have to do much.. Its Big Media that has to create and maintain their addon. However, come to think of it, even Google's YouTube is unofficially maintained. That should tell us something. I can only speculate (rightly so) that they want full control of how their services are accessed and displayed. Hence individual apps.

Don't hold your breath.. If Navi-X could eventually be brought down.. Exodus has less chances of staying up. Especially as they are part of the TV Addons gang.. Speaking of Exodus, they've pushed out a release and now supports library integration. Previously, used to be just "Add to Favorites".. I haven't tested the library integration just yet, but should work.

movie and tv show does not really make much money as it is not really their 'content' for dish company, the revenue come from live tv and sport stream..that's why most of the addon that have live tv and sport are the one being targeted..

thats what i thought too. maybe thats the reason exodus still alive, coz it is not related to live tv and sports
