If u do unpopular videos with poor seeds n peers links, u will not like quasar.

The popular ones, u get a tv 1080p show to play within 20 secs and 100% done within 5 mins,.. can watch later at your own leisure.

The best thing about quasar is you can keep the file if u wish.

Which is what i do sometimes... those 15, 30gb ones.
*
That's what exactly I normally does. I'll keep the drams/movies I like. biggrin.gif

Okay... While I can't claim to wrap my head around it any longer.. Seems like Quasar isn't for everyone.. through no fault of the addon.. Luckily, being Kodi.. we are blessed with other viable options.. biggrin.gif

Here's my experience;
Specs: Minix Neo U1, 4ft CAT6 Gigabit Ethernet cable connected to a AC1200 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router (Yes, stock TM router), Custom DNS, IPv6 enabled 30Mbps Unifi, Krypton 17.1 (main) or latest SPMC version off the Play Store (Jarvis), No VPN, mix of public and private providers, 320MB cache size (RAM usage X3), pre-buffer amount set at 150MB, which is 100% complete in under a minute), Library & media stored purely on local eMMC storage.... TV & HT (ARC)..

Assuming all is well with both addons.. no errors, etc... With the above, can very easily get around 3500+kBps on a well seeded file (has hundreds - thousands of connections). From last night, a title with very low seeds-peers ratio of 4/3 (HEVC file; these typically have lower seeders than H264 files), and even then, still able to get connected between 800 - 1700 kBps...easy. Can't wait to get the free bump to 50Mbps or that TIME moves into the building.. Expect even better results.. biggrin.gif

I have no issue with Quasar's speed but just that don't know why it made my box hang and I had to switch off and switch on the box again. laugh.gif
Speed wise maybe my 50M helps.

Eh, is this considered as P2P? Reason being I may change to Digi Infinite 150 and it is against P2P, so I may not be able to watch it. doh.gif Oh damn.

Yes.. p2p connections... You could still switch and use a premium VPN. Though I'm not sure that'll work.. The 50Mbps does help.. Maybe it quit cuz not Internet too fast.. tongue.gif

u won't find much.

opensubs, subscene, kodi, etc... these are "western" stuff.

china people tend to stick to their own apps, do not like going into kodi and related.

if u know china apps - ALL of them have chinese subs!

Sure.. Addons like Genesis Reborn, Phoenix, etc.. Basically, if it has to fetch from sources such as gorri***ids, openl**d, etc.. Those are normal streaming.. Others can speak for Icdrama, as I don't use it.. smile.gif

Within the main settings page (not during playback)... Make sure to select Chinese instead of English. Try that.

Excellent! I have hope then. biggrin.gif
Icdrama is probably not because it links to direct download sources. biggrin.gif

hahaha I'm using systimax Cat6E (Shielded)

but to be frank. cat-5 is more than enough because our internet speed are far lesser than the cables can cope. Cat-5 can transfer speed up to 200mb. smile.gif

You do.. In fact, many direct download sources are simply as the name implies..non-p2p.

Personally, I'd say with a gigabit router?? Minimum CAT5E... I believe even TM now ships with CAT6 or CAT6E cables for new 30Mbps+ installations.

If using it for internal networking is difference because network transmission between TX/RX has to in-cooperate with the entire network (24/48) ports. ex: transmitting vid over 100gb over the intranet. Then giga-speed cables are required.

I have a few project used Cat-7 cables. SO far in Malaysia there is only a few company are able to invest in such infra. smile.gif

Those TM cat-6 cables are very low end cables.

For those who aren't already aware... The official Kodi website was revamped and more mobile friendly.

Hurrraayyyyy... Quasar is working great now!

I've found the root cause...

Back then when on torrent, i usually will set the upload rate limit to just 1kbps... So as usual i set the same way inside the quasar too....

But accidentally in utorrent apps outside kodi i didnt set it at first... During torrenting, i change the setting... Then i saw the running torrent speed become 1kbps speed too....

Then i remove the upload speed limit, it back to full speed...

So i remove the limit inside quasar also...

Voila full speed...buffering just about a minute, then video started to play...

Nice rclxms.gif :claps:Attached Image

Phew. Since I'm always not around, so I have decided to go for Digi Infinite 150 rather than paying for UniFi...
