hi guys, I'm new to Kodi, running Kodi v17 on MiBox 3S

most of the add-on (ICDrama, SportsDevil, Exodus, Specto) that I'm using have heavy buffering, whether it's loading for sources/link before playing movie, or while playing movie, it just keeps buffering

I'm using UniFi Adv30 (Adv50 is coming soon, thx to the free upgrade:idea:) router is TPLINK WR841HP, just beside my MiBox. Even with nobody inside my house using the internet, only me alone, Kodi just buffers too much

When someone else is using internet, it gets worst. At first I thought it was my connection issue, but when I run YouTube/iflix, no issue at all

I've ran speedtest using WiFi, ping is good<5ms, D/L speed is around 28+Mbps

any help/recommendation here?

I tried two backup apk, Indigo & echo wizard. Echo wizard are better. but you can't use a old Kodi version full backup on 17 krypton, it will go to black screen.

to get echo wizard. you need to add the source : http://echocoder.com/repo/

used direct Ethernet direct cable network. sometime wifi transmission can be lag.

You can also used program tools to increased you buffer size. Echo wizard has the tools to do that. google youtube you can find the steps.

I have tried watching two 4K movie in difference devices with 30mb line. no lagging at all.

v15 to v17... not advisable. the 2 versions are too different.
u will likely end up redoing everything.
with same version, can use the methods already described or... what i use:
use file explorer to copy and paste the folder org.xbmc.kodi from one device to another.

that speed is good enough for most addons incl exodus, icdrama.
possible explanations:
.. u r on wifi, too far away.
.. u hv too much stuff in yr box, memory/storage running out.
.. hardware acceleration not set correctly.

Tested Exodus and it's still pretty fast loading. Using Unifi Adv30 plan too but connected via Ethernet. Correct me if wrong, but that MiBox doesn't have an Ethernet port? Let's rule out a Kodi ---> Network issue; how about playing Youtube videos with the Kodi addon? Does that work smoothly?
Else, you can try getting your hands dirty with the advancedsettings.xml file... Pay attention to the "Network" codes. May help.

Guys, any add on to recommend for Sports? All England badminton will start soon. I tried Adrian Sports TV but it's not working.

I gave up and subscribed to CloudTV for this month.

Hm.. quite a lot of addons need to install. Is there any other way to list out the addon name which I had install to a text file ?
Nothing much can be do since xiaomi lags and 17 not working very well and crash out.
Possible way to retain the by backup ver 15 addon , install on a new media player ver15 , then upgrade from ver 15 to 17 ?

what is cloudTV ? which and how to subscribe ? costly ?

Can be easily Googled. Subscribe from the app or website. To me, it's not, affordable for me.

no... it doesn't work like that.

when u upgrade from one version to another, many things old will not work - repos, addons, dependencies.

u still need to get new. cleaner to start afresh.

yes, kodi 17 is more demanding than 16 or 15.

You don't have to install all addons..only those that do what you need and are still functioning.. Personally, don't think I have more than 10 video addons installed. There's already a suggestive list on page one.

Possible to backup as described..only results are mixed. As already pointed out, Krypton is a whole new beast and very fussy if asked to migrate addons, etc to its new format. I updated once from Jarvis and settings, addons, custom code, etc were successfully migrated. But ran into some issues and had to roll back. Tried again a few days later (same installation and device) and surprisingly after updating to Krypton, launching it either crashes or shows a blank screen. So, roll back again... YMMV... For best results, do a fresh install and setup.. Only take a few minutes.

Search the garage sales section... Sure got a few sellers willing to provide such..

Ok , guess need to list out all the repo and etc.I install a lot one by one during the olympic , and sometimes the repo auto install thousand channel list too.
Guess only way to do fresh install. Will list them down one by one many trouble.

Hey, what version are you running and how did you install it? The main repo is down, managed to find a method to install v1.0.1... However, no list of movies appear upon launching the addon.

The TM STB is unable to run Kodi V17.. Don't bother as it does not meet the requirements.
