But after few days usage will start to get lag again

Last time i own one of cheapo lar but octa core MTK phone

Once a week shd restart phone

For those who are asking. 2gb is more than enough for normal usage. If you're playing a considerably heavy game and would like to straight jump into chrome and open a few tabs, you might push it to use more ram but if you are the kind who exits games or don't even play heavy games really, even 1gb is enough.
Stop being too obsesed about ram. As for the 16gb internal its more than enough for me. I only use Spotify so no need for music in the phone. The 16gb is only for WhatsApp media (which I clear from time to time), android, apps and their data and a little bit of media (screen captures and downloads)
I also have a 64gb high speed microsd carried from my old phone. Right now, its almost empty with only some camera photos. If things get too heavy, I can just install apps on the memory card.

With 4 tabs on chrome and youtube, i have 400mb left. Assuming you have, 3gb Ram, what are you going to do the rest? Save it in your bank? I have a G4 as my main phone and it has 3gb ram, hardly pass 2gb even with some multitasking. Thats for me, I'm not a heavy user. Also have an old S4 with 2gb Ram, still running fine.
You are right but the 3gb version is not available online and some retailers are selling it for RM9xx and some even RM1000. So its not just RM100 more.

I was from a redmi note 1. was looking for an upgrade.

My main requirements are dual sim, dedicated msd slot, better camera, bigger RAM/ROM, better battery, fingerprint, better screen, and otg.

It leave me with a few other limited options :RN3, lenovo k4 note, huawei 5x, those zenfones, and j7.

RN3: no msd slot, cam average
k4 note : ticks all the boxes except cam
5x: no otg, cam donno how good
zenfones : battery sucky2
j7 : screen no full hd. camera oso average. ram 1.5

In the end, although i didnt really prefer that brand, i opted for the K4 note. The camera still average though. well, so is RN3. If only RN3 offers dedicated msd slot, i would've opt for it in a heartbeat. dem u redmi

Yes and no. There are actually pre rooted rom that can be flashed with locked bootloader.
The problem is, xiaomi unlocking procedure is very hassle.Samsung also lock their bootloader but to unlock Samsung bootloader, just change at developer options straight away unlocked. No need wait sms bla bla bla.. This locking just implemented by xiaomi recently only but not done properly.

I refused to play their bullshit game so I unlocked unofficially in 15 minutes and flash AOSP rom.

Difference between AOSP and MIUI is night and day. Rom is lighter and less RAM consumption (1.8 GB free ram), everything feels smoother than MIUI, I'm also like the layout of things better (Hate how notifications and toggles are split into 2 different pages).

Oncce CM13 is ready, I will flash that too. Big fan of CM, the no.1, most popular custom rom in the Android world.

Custom ROM always buggy. It may be fast. But not worth it.
Some more why you need to much free RAM?
Also, MIUI update is very good while AOSP need to wait until got developer do it.
