Hey guys! So I got myself the Y50 a year ago. It's the one with GTX860. The problem is I realize is that the display is actually quite bad and is actually affecting me. I read online that you can actually change it ? Because the Y50 came with two options: 1st: Like mine, standard FULL HD LED screen 2nd: UHD Screen (Much better but expensive) So to all the laptop gurus, is it possible for me to replace my screen with the UHD one ?? And if so where

And if so where Don't think its possible. I have the same device you're using and I remember asking the same question. It seems the connector used for the FHD and UHD panels are different and are not compatible with each other. FHD uses a 30-pin connector if I am not mistaken and the UHD a 40-pin. Also for a final blow, the UHD looks like crap too, which is why I went for the FHD. A good replacement panel with better quality is available but quite hard to find, for both UHD and FHD. Most replacement panels are pretty bad for this model and even the best ones aren't really really good.

You probably got a TN panel like me but there are some IPS FHD panels out there with better quality. I've found some online before but I didn't commit to replacing it. If I am not mistaken the UHD models all use IPS panels.

Could you give me a rough guide or do you know any stores in Malaysia that could help me with it ? Thanks again!

Could you give me a rough guide or do you know any stores in Malaysia that could help me with it ? Thanks again! Sorry I have no idea who or which store in Malaysia provides that kind of service. I've done for a lot of Lenovo models and its pretty easy. The only irritating part is removing the front panel covering the LCD screen. Lenovo laptops are well known for using low quality materials for that part. If you want a guide, words won't help you but there are quite a few YouTube videos teaching on how to replace it for this exact model. You can check there, its not as hard as you think but if you're worried, I suggest you don't proceed with it on your own. As for the LCD itself, you need to find out the panel you want, then there is a code on it that you need to find. Once you identified the product you can easily find it on e-Bay. Lazada, 11street etc doesn't carry these kind of spare parts.

Just wondering the way to purchase LCD and knowing which type would fit.

I got most of the info from here last time but it hasn't been active for a while now: http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/y5...pendium.755626/I'm not sure those links with the products are still available or not but you can go through it.
