Hi guys,

Just got my P990 today, it comes with chinese input, the seller told me that the firmware is the latest, but when i re-checked its different, so my question is whether there is a different firmware upgrade for phones with chinese input? That seems to be what i am reading from most msg boards, is that the firmware upgrade for the chinese phones are not out yet.

Can't upgrade my firmware yet as the firmware for the chinese input phone is not out yet. Some bugs here and there but i can live with it whilst waiting for the newest firmware.

Had two restarts since yesterday, other than that very happy with the purchase, bot it for RM2888

Btw, how does one go around getting the goodies? Just fax the warranty card to SE and that's it?

my firmware same with u...but after i upgrade my chinese input gone????can u help me out??

The latest firmware for CDA /8 has not been released yet.

Most prob you flashed your phone back to generic version, if you dont need to read and write chinese you can just use it as it is, if not i think you can install the chinese reading software back at the service centre, dunno if you can install the chinese input tho.

But like i said, if you dont need chinese you can use your phone as it is.

i'm planning to get a p990i...i have a few question to ask...
1) u guys was talking about there's two different version which is the generic version and the asian simplified chinese version.Whats the difference and which is more stable?which one should i get...

2)how do i know whether i'm getting and determine its a generic version or the simplified chinese version

3)whats the latest firmware for the p990?and is there any website that i can update the software as i will be getting an AP set

Thanks for answering....
*
They actually do state on the box that it is 'Chinese Language Supported', the truth is if you do not need to read/write chinese, better to get the generic one, as stated before the firmware comes out much sooner.

Anyone facing problems with the alarm on the p990?

After updating the firmware, the alarm does not seem to go off.

Once you upgrade your firmware to the latest one (not sure which one you're using right now, whether Generic World or Singapore or some other sets), there will be a button called 'Speaker' appearing when someone calls you (or vice-versa).

Hmmm...on my phone the options that come out are only yes, mute and no when someone calls me. I am using the latest firmware.
