That's the exact question I've been wondering.. apparently there aren't any malaysia-compatible GPS software for UIQ3 yet. :/ as in, no malaysian maps.

There actually is, but from what I understand, the drawback is that you need to use Garmin MobileXT + GPS10x / Malsingmaps combination.

Why I say it's a drawback, is because Garmin GPS10x costs RM 7xx, and AFAIK other BT GPS receivers cannot work with Garmin MobileXT.

Ah.. I see. And I read too that some companies are reluctant to roll out mapping software for UIQ3 as the user base is low compared to other OSes like Windows.

That, and also coupled with the fact that GPS is not that popular yet in our part of the world compared to Europe or North America. Hence there's not much motivation on part of the developers to come up with something for our region, as we have to face the fact, developer's develop applications hoping that they get some money in return.

Of course, because not a lot of models are utilizing this OS.

Motorola A925, A1000, SE P800, P900, P910, P990.

So it gives a certain exclusivity to this OS, I like biggrin.gif

That is so true, but hopefully it'll change in the months to come because I intend to stick around with my P990 much longer than I thought I would.

Well.. not when there aren't really a lot of programs developed for it, but yeah it does seem sort of 'exclusive' :P

Yeah, just like when Nokia releases 7710 and decided to discontinued it even b4 it launched. Judging from the price of P990i AP, it does feels like SE is doing the same as Nokia did. I think P990i is pretty much a goner.

I beg to differ.

As far as I know, the original units of P990i is still at its prime pricing at about RM23xx to RM28xx.

AP pricing are not up to SE's jurisdiction, so I don't think it's right to judge how SE is positioning the P990i based on its AP's pricing.

Just a question, I've recently animated a GIF file, and set it as a screensaver for my phone. For some reason, when the screensaver is playing halfway, the screen will automatically fade out after about 10 seconds or so. Can I not prolong the fade out, so that it'll only fade out after the screensaver has finished playing completely?

i usually convert mine to MP4....so that my M600i* and my ipod could play it....

*assuming the format supported by m600i and p990 are the same...
