try PM nakata101 or irenic, they both are using the same mobo as yours. probably they could lead you to the right path.

Have u go in the bios n check it, set the oc setting to Normal. Set the multiplier to X7, then save n exit n check it again. Did u using the lastest Bios ?

Uninstall the overclock utility. They're crap. Use BIOS instead.

Make sure the options are as above, all DISABLED.

Anyway, I suggest that you update to the latest BIOS.

Anything else... check out this link, might be helpful : http://www.rebelshavenforum.com/sisubb/ult...?ubb=forum;f=53

maybe you can find your answer here. http://forums.vr-zone.com/showthread.php?t=85454

i believe it either Speed Step or EIST. something like Cool N Quite in AMD. just disable both in Bios.

just to let everyone know,

EIST refers to Enhanced Intel Speedstep Technology

This is a feature that let you saves power consumption and is dervied from mobile proc (staring from P3-M)

The speed varies according to usage. the lower it is, the lower power the consumption

disabling the EIST (either BIOS, control panel in windows or 3rd party software like centrino hardwre controller, CHC) will enable one to take full control of the proc, in this case, for o/c purposes

EIST for desktop procs is available from PentiumD9xx (but not activated) and up to the recent C2D procs
