QUOTE(RyoKenzaki @ May 2 2016, 11:12 AM) Whats the point of using Android if you are just gonna stick to stock? Flezibility and customization is why we go for Android. Using custom ROM does not necessarily mean the stock one suck, but it can be improvise and add in more features. If your phone sucks whatever ROM you run also suck la, simple as that U mean the millions of android users that buys android phones MUST flash new roms inside to make their phones to make it useful? And should u even need to pay RM3000 for a phone that you need to flash new rom inside so it can be classified as useful? Buddy, the majority of users are on whassap and games. These roms does nothing for them. Your main complaint is the software never met your needs. So you are only 1 guy out of 10000 other guys who does not need anything unusual for their phones. (I'll save it for the people who uses roms as their bragging rights). It if improves the phone usability, yes that i agree. But reliability? No seriously? You are merely changing the look and feel of software. Try some roms that clock your processor higher and see if its reliable or not?

QUOTE(arubin @ May 2 2016, 11:23 AM) Stock rom did have some bugs that needed to be fixed though, but no rom out there is perfect. Maybe no obvious ones. Custom ROM has serious bu\gs like no WiFi, can't detect SIM card etc. Really showstopper ones. But stock usually works OOTB even if some weird bugs break some weird apps. QUOTE(arubin @ May 2 2016, 11:23 AM) The original OPO is still one of the best mid-range phones to ever have been made so far. No regrets buying True.. back when they cared.

Also they are removing the sandboxing and making it more prone to being trojaned

QUOTE(wodenus @ May 2 2016, 11:17 AM) Stock ROM is stable from the beginning. stock roms are also full of bugs prior to release, that's why they do testing. after release, there might be more bugs which creep up after some time. so normally updates are released to fix those bugs.

You are merely changing the look and feel of software. Try some roms that clock your processor higher and see if its reliable or not? I'm referring to those buyers who actually chose Android over iPhone not the average majority who just buy Android from the influence of marketing gimmicks. Popular manufacturer like Samsung with the most buyer base are of course just your average users who have no idea what is customization and optimizing the phone but Oneplus users are majority knowledgeable in phone tweaking as they did not came to know this phone from advertising since they only advertise on social media platform. And I'm not saying all Android phones are good, I'm only saying the OPO is good so no, not RM3000 but merely RM1.4k that outperformed the RM3000. And mind you, flashing ROM are not just for the look and feel, it optimized the phone for a better performance as well. I can choose to overclock my phone or not, it's not an issue. Do you even know what is ROM or are you not familiar with phone tweaking at all because you doesn't sounds like you know what you are talking about
