As I know, alcohol fuels have higher octane(usually over 100 RON) but is highly corrosive. Engines that runs on ethanol are usually mildly modified petrol engines. Eventhough ethanol gives lower mileage, a pure ethanol engine can run on extremely high compression ratio to help its efficiency. But very hard to make engines that runs on pure methanol le, we have to modify them quite a bit and making engines that run on pure ethanol will make it hard for the companies here to produce ethanol to meet demands. Also can petrol engines withstand such pressure?

But we won't be restricted by knock if we want to modify our engines. We don't have too worry about how much boost we could use if we wanna install a turbo.

I mean improve the country's economy a bit, export and stuff. Unless it doesn't work that way. You know what I think, it is best to mix this with our biodiesel. So the demand for biodiesel can be decreased, making it easy to cope with demands. This post has been edited by tunertoobe: Jan 20 2007, 03:19 PM
