I've been playing online for the longest time on wireless, since the era of USB based wifi cards (there's no internal built in wifi card back then). No issues with internet connection stability, only 1 time & its solved after I changed my old router. Wireless connection(Wifi) has less performance compared to wired connection.

So wireless can be as good as wired.
