Hello all parents here , I'm new in this forum as well as I'm a new Mùmmy to be . Currently I'm undergoing my monthly antenatal check up with Dr Tan Lay Seng from Gleneagles Hospital.In week 16, I registered myself in government check up to get the record from govt. so now , I'm going to both side check up . Due to high delivery cost in Gleneagles, I'm so headache to choose between government hospital ( which is I'm not familiar with the doctor who will perform the delivery ) & I'm absolutely feel secure with Dr Tan but is abit pricy for us . What's your opinion ? Can you share some advice / suggestions ?

Ps: I'm considering the UKMSC ( ukm private wing ) for delivery for lower budget

Gleneagles cost : 5-6k+ natural / c section 8-10k
UKMSC : 3k natural / c section 5-8k

its mainly just a comfort thing.

for us we were overseas for most of my wifes pregnancy. just arrived back in malaysia few months before delivery, met a new doc and just rolled from there. so we didnt have any relationship. but we went for private at KPJ. ended up around RM10-12k elective c-sec as baby wasnt positioned properly for natural birth. i think if emergency c-sec would cost 15k+

many of my family had delivered their many many kids from gov hospital with no issues. i would go that route if i have another cause it really is too expensive for checkups and everything. but immunizations and follow ups i just go to gov clinic. FOC and the nurses all very helpful. if you register after birth they will also send 1-2 nurses to your house to check on you, help teach you how to better care for baby. etc. i think they go like 2-3 times till the baby reaches a safe age to go out.
