This is the hard way. There are the hard modded Xeon. No need to cut the mobo at all.

What cooler do you guys use anyway? Try cooling a 150W xeon with 5 years old air cooler is dam noisy

I'm using the C2Q stock cooler. The one with the copper core. Ok la, can tahan.
