I did my Apel-7 during April'21 at Open University.
At first you need to register online and select the date you want to sit in the exam, then pay the fees online. It nothing you can refer or study for the exam questions (but the exam questions not difficult much, need to answer BM, English, Maths and general knowledge test).
After you pass the exam you will get inform by the uni to prepare your portfolio (just follow the format they given). You have 2 weeks time to prepare it and submit to the uni.
Once your portfolio pass, they will invite you go through 2 interviews (present your working experience and answer some simple questions).
After completed all, the uni will email you the result and inform you to wait for MOA deliver the APEL certificate to you. It took me around 2 months plus (maybe during lockdown).

*** Remember your APEL certicate must issue by MOA (not issue by Open university, most of the university only will recognize your APEL issue by MOA).
