 about rca output voltage 2v or 4v ?

currently my car own Alpine cda 9807 which bulid in 3 pair of rca output with 4 volt

i plan to change the head unit because need usb playable

now the problem is, if i install HU that have rca output 2 volt, will it affect of my sound system or not??

anyone please help


sound system - front alpine speaker with tweeter , rear altec lansing speaker, 12" pioneer woofer, 1 alpine amp, 1 sony xplod amp.

Sure will affect but depending on your ear....How SQ it is....some will notice...some will not.....for my old ear....nah...not much difference.....

Yes it will have a noticeable drop in sound quality as it will not sound as clear and open as before. You also need to readjust your amp gain setting to match the lower voltage output (usually you'd need to turn up the gain higher compared to your current gain for the 4V output, provided that your gain setting is now already matched for the 4V output)

Its negligible unless you have "audiophile" hearing.

You won't hear the difference unless your head says "Sh*t, the 2V Output doesn't sound good at all"

Anyways, nowadays most players are all 4V rated I think. Still have 2V Pre-Out?
