How do you check your card statement? I doubt Ambank will send a monthly statement to your home, would they?

i oso using it ..until now i dunhv receive any statement from them..

Usually I will call the number behind the card and check balance with them.

Since we are on this topic, can NexG Prepaid CC be used like how the actual CC is used?

I.e I can swipe at Petrol pumps or buy a shirt at a shopping mall, swipe my card,sign and pay.

what i did were, 1. insert card ... 2. wait and the screen show mastercard then processing payment then FAIL .. .. i dont think im correct because it process the payment before i fill da petrol .. .. anybody can let me know how to use cc at petrol kiosk, step by step ..

It is a Credit Card or Debit Card ?

Its a credit card but works like a debit card. If you don't have credit in the card then you can forget using it

There are usually 2 ways of using CC to pay for petrol

A) Full tank
- Insert card
- System process
- Lift nozzle and refuel
- Put the nozzle back upon finish, receipt will be printed

B) Preset amount
- Preset your amount 1st
- Insert card
- System process
- Lift nozzle and refuel
- Put the nozzle back upon finish, receipt will be printed

Since your CC is a prepaid CC, so maybe you should try the Preset amount way.

Like you all say this NexG Prepaid CC is a credit card but works like a debit card, so can I use this card to buy something like handphone or laptop that pay by installment for 12 months but requirement is paid by credit card that kind of things?

So does anyone know whether i can see the account statement online or not? Because im planning to use it to register at paypal and if not mistaken, after you register your paypal account using a credit card, they will send a pin code that would appear at your credit card statement. So how can i do it with NexG?

Also, i notice that the card doesnt have a name printed on it, so when we use it for online transaction, when we are required to enter the card holder's name, do we leave the information blank or put in the name that we used to register the NexG card?

You can see the account statement online after you received your webpin. estimated 4 weeks after your registration has been received.

about paypal, once after you register paypal with NexG, just go to their branch or call them for reference number. The reference number is the number required by paypal. No need to wait for webpin, just call/visit them.

Use the name u registered to ur nexG.

Also i've already registered at the ATM to use ambank online services. So far, im able to log in and surf around.

The problem is that i've just tried registering the card for a paypal account, it says the transaction has been declined by the bank that my card is registered to. Are they blocking all transaction outside malaysia?? My card also failed to be accepted at another international online store...sigh

My card should be activated already rite? Now that i have top up and registered myself for the online services.

I had the same problem once.

Call the Customer Service Centre and inform the customer representative you'd like to make a foreign transaction. You should have no problems following this. I suspect this may be a safety feature put in place for new card holders.

I've thus far successfully used the card to verify my PayPal account, make an eBay purchase from Japan and used it for a purchase from Play-Asia (an online store based in Hong Kong).

It's a debit card, it isn't a "full-fledge" "hutang" card. Hehe.

basically, the money ur using is the money u have in the account....like a debit card but mastercard is worldwide accepted

My experience is that I got the AmBank NexG and cancelled it, all within a month. Nothing much wrong with the card, but AmBank's services are just, oh well, I think you get the idea.

Anyway, I got the pin and everything mailed to me within 2 weeks. It was when I tried accessing the card with the provided pin on AmBank ATM machine - it prompted a pin error and confisticated my NexG card WITHOUT further notice!

Went to the branch the next day during office hours to collect it and they said my card is due to be CUT UP and I will have to get a brand new pack and then to transfer my old registered card's details to the new one before it can work again. All that cumbersome work, filling up forms-la and I will be charged an administrative fee of RM 25!

LOL - to me that is just so crappy! And quite an experience it is.

Anyway, back to the topic - I think the best method to check your NexG statements at your disposal is to go back to any AmBank branches (after your detail registration is ready) and request to open an e-banking account in correspondence to your NexG account. And then you can track your statements online just like any other online banking accounts. Yes, they will do that for you.

this is quite an experience. shud i say an expensive experience? yupz...i know their service is really very bad 1. but didnt think it was this bad. i think now we all get the picture. hahahaha..

now they dont have online service for prepaid debit..hmmm if paypal just call them...and for petrol if you want to use must have rm150 minimum balance..

case 1
card confiscated by atm machine...its still logical....my blardy card got stuck in their cdm. i did my bank in as usual...pop my card in...

a few push of the buttons, cash in...then i reach the part where it prompts me if i want continue. i press no and tht blardy cdm just hang up without returning my card. the screen showing the error message, the machine bla bla bla temporarily not available.

i proceed to call the bank immediately as it was after office hours and i got a great reply, i need to block my card then cancel it, then get a new card. tis wasn't my fault at all..its their blardy cdm tht hang up


case 2
tis rm150 is standard for debit card...credit card not sure. its only applicable for payment at the pump. if u pay inside, proper amount is debited
after 2-3 business days(usually 2), the amount of fuel will be deducted from the rm150 and the rest back to your acc

ambank is also not very friendly at this part, they hold rm150 for 30days if u cancel your transaction.
i pop my card in as usual, wait for approval, then i lift up the pump and put it back. its rm0.00 on the receipt. after i found out i can't set how much i want to pump.
when i check online, i was puzzled why the rm150 is there even after a week.
i call to ambank told me tht rm150 is held for 30days/cancelled or failed transaction at the pump
I have tried using PB visa electron...no matter how many times i cancelled the transaction, i dun get charged like ambank. it dun even appear on the statement.

hey guys,i bought the nextG card few months ago,then got the pin 2 months after tat,wat should i do with the pin ar?how to get started?wii they charge me monthly fee even though i haven't activate it using the pin?

OK, I already have this card, submitted the form last Thursday and I want to add money in it.

1. Can I put in the money through Maybank ATM? If I can, how? (Just assume I have account in Maybank)
2. How do you put in money in the card?

How to activate this card? I already faxed my registration form on Sunday. I took this card up for Online purchases. Low risk from fraud unlike normal credit cards

(1) Im not so sure if you can transfer money from other bank's atm
(2) (i) You can cash deposit it at AmBank branches via Cash Deposit machines or going to the counter(I usually use this, its easiest)
(ii)Topup at Cathay Cineplexes (I havent tried this because I dont know where to topup)
(ii) Transfer funds from an existing AmBank account (I dont hv another ambank account so never tired)
(iv) Interbank Giro from other bank accounts (never tried)

If im not mistaken, you hv to go to an ATM machine and put in your card then input ur pin, where you can then change it and apply for online pin for online banking.

can i add fund/money from Maybank2u to my NEXG debit card?

Yes, choose funds transfer and then transfer GIRO. pick ambank and then credit card payment. btw, if you have ambank saving account, its better to transfer to that account first. since from my experience, transfer to saving account take 1 day while to NexG 2 days.

well, I bought stuff with this card online and it works. But AMBANK online website is crappy man.

the only thing good about nexg is that at cineleisure if you buy 3 tickets, you get one free. besides that I don't really use it.

Does it expire ah? I didn't add in money for some time now.

The expiry date is on your card. It written there. Anyways, you will still be charged rm3 per month, so your account might be negative if you haven't used it for so long. Anyways, ive just requested the printed statement. Wonder how long will it take to mail to my house.

well, my cds came so this card works for online

I wish to cancel my nexgen haven been using the card for more than a year, and apparently I think the remaining credits should be negative by now. Will I be subjected to clearing my negative debts if i wish to cancel the card? or should i wait till expiry? will that cause my credits be forfeited?

just get my nextg activated this week after chasing thier customer service for 3 weeks. i'd purchase the card from branch here (penang) and the customer service here do all the paperwork for me then ask me to wait a week. 1wk+ still no response, call up tool free number asking what happen and the central cs rep mention no application received from branch. call up branch and cs rep penang and mention she fax already and fax 2nd time on the same day as ask to wait for another wks.

2 wks past call cs rep central again and replied no application received. This time i get hot edi.. personally go see cs rep penang and ask her to fax for 3rd time and collect all the fax transaction detail then call cs central again to provide the info.. funny the cs rep central said no application received. I ask him to take the fax information detail that i obtain from cs rep penang and search for the document and then onli the application arrive at central cs rep. bugger btol... pin just arrive this week almost a month of hassle to get this card activated.

try to use the card for paypal but deny by paypal due to restriction, try on US PSN oso.. also can validate card. sigh.. so many problem, I suspected the card was block for foreign transaction until i read this thread today. Immediately call toll free number and talk to card authorization rep to lift the foreign transaction restriction. Immediately go to paypal web and wallaaaaa... can linked already, but still need to wait for paypal pin for next 3-4 days.... hopefully no issue with US PSN later.

soo many energy has to put for small thing.. malaysia mmg boleh ini mcm.

do you all think that worth it every month paying RM3 for it? i have one that get from my college which ambank with metropolitan college. well currently i have another one is alliance bank debit card which is free. but i heard 'mole' not sure the name also from 7 11 is much better

If you use it alot, then its quite worth it lor. Plus I hv the cineleisure one so when I buy 3 tickets get 1 free ticket. But if you dont, then i think its much better u stick to your alliance bank one.

Ok i just checked. MOL freedom has no monthly fee but It has a yearly fee of RM20 which is waived for the first yr


When u want to top up using other methods besides cash deposit at EON bank, you'll be charged RM2

Hello... currently I am using NexG Debit card and it's near its expiry date.

I have RM100++ balance.

My question is, if the card is expired, will the balance given back to me or will it be "expired" like the card too?

Should I move the balance to my account??

If im not mistaken, u can just go to the nearest branch and get it changed for free.
The balance will be done by the bank so dont need to worry about it.

Can this card be used to buy at online shop from foreign country. ( not ebay, the online shop that require us to fill in the card number , expiry date etc) ?
Because i use a PB Electron card and it cant be use to buy at online shop.

I have bad experience with this card and AmBank security...

Somehow my Online account was frozen. I called them to make it online...

I thought my NexG card was still in good condition. Today I wanted to use the card. I placed RM200 inside like normal. The money accepted like normal too...

Then when I wanted to pay something online, my card was rejected. I check online, my card account in my online banking account was GONE!!!

I went to the bank and tried to withdraw the money and I CAN'T EVEN WITHDRAW IT!!!! Rejected!!! The bank says 24 hours customer service... My butt ah!! Call them no tone ah!

WTF kindof service is this??? Anyone got this experience?? How to get back my RM200?

*Update 11 Feb*

I just went to the main branch in Kuching. Checked with the customer service gal. She say if want to withdraw money, cannot select "Withdrawal"... Must select "Cash Advance". But still, that is not the main problem.

I told them my problem with the money. She told me that the card was inactive if there are no transactions for 8 months. Then the card will be inactive.

Problem was half solved when a form of reactivation was filled. The customer service gal say need to wait till next week it will be processed.

See how... I'll update the result of the problem here then.

Sorry... forgot to add what happened already. Well, actually the money was withdrawn out by me after the card was activated again.

Now I'm still using the card as usual. But I skipped the payment for the 8 months of fees! LOL!

The easiest debit card i ever own for online transaction.Never give me any problem.I buy ebay,pay myeg summons,some others online payment..great card!

but i never received any statement since 2years ago..if you walk in to the bank they also cannot print you the statement..if you pek2 least they can do is 1month..

they only will fax your statement

If you are having a transaction like Hotel and Petrol Station.. Hotel, they will charge you twice, first time for verification, second time charge for hotel money, then they will return the first time money in 30 days time. For petrol station, you will be charged up to RM150 and will give back to you in up to 30 days time..

Applicable for Debit Cards..
