With 500 bucks you could get a 250 gb version SSD. Probably won't be enough for gaming storage. Stick to loading those games that takes a long time to load up in the SSD and storing your other media in the HDD.

A suggestion for you would be the Kingston Hyper X Fury or Savage which runs you for about 300-400 bucks (depending on seller). If you want a faster drive for the same capacity the Samsung 850 Evo is the one you want. Of course that will run you almost 500 bucks

Wise choice. Save you a couple of bucks to start with and the performance difference with the Samsung version isn't too great. So as your boot drive and etc should suffice till prices drop.

QUOTE(saymyname @ Apr 22 2016, 06:15 PM) SSD for gaming? online game = good idea. faster loading equal faster joining a raid[internet dependant as well la]. offline game = got money to burn? go ahead. u mean to say SSD for gaming is better for those who are playing online games? say, on offline games, in terms of loading times, will it have any considerable improvement?

Dont care whether it is an online or offline games. What user wants is the performance of loading the games.

QUOTE(saymyname @ Apr 22 2016, 08:07 PM) online game? yes. ssd allows the game loading & PC boot up faster. no more "sorry, wood PC," excuse when late for a raid. offline game? yes. loading time is considerably reduced. butt ppl usually don't rush to play offline game. some enjoy read the tips/stat review on the loadin screen. u have a good point there.. generally, while SSD does give better improvement in terms of performance and loading time, etc..the most important part is to find an SSD that fits one's budget..in my case, i'll narrow my choices to those below RM500 as an entry level SSD..

Games that have frequent and long loading (like Total War games) will benefit from SSD. 240GB is enough for 1 or 2 modern games (30-50 GB size).
