Hello Bro Djinn,

If you ask my opinion I believe that with the 65nm process lots of improvement will come.

Since it is basically creating a new motherboard for the 360, Microsoft will fix lot of identified problem with that revision. And for sure they have identified whatever problem or randomness associated with the 3 Ring Of Death.

Now for the not so good news. I first heard that the revision will come sometime in first quarter of 2007. But read somewhere that now it is delayed to 2nd quarter. IMHO this also means that no price drop until just before summer.

However, that is my speculation. Ahhhh! Because no competition whatsoever from PS3 to justify price drop. And summer is just another season where kids will play lots of game.

M$ is milking the cow by not dropping price. More money in the war chest for the big fight later laugh.gif

Cheers!!! Hell I don't want to be Sonny in summer.

there will always be problem when switching to new technology, i believe you got to wait another half year after they try to use the 65nm thingy. doh.gif
Some more wait for me then! cry.gif

oh i remember reading from FAMITSU(taiwan ver). state there xbox360 won the best electronic design award of the year. i guess they wont be getting this if their machine screw up so easily.
Sure ... just compare Xbox360 to PS3 motherboard ... and the inner geek inside me just say that microsoft skip alot of "design" decision to make it simple and cheap.

One might say that it is a tried and true design and not using new technology like CELL. But then the one cpu core of the 360 is actually very similar to PS3 PPE.

So IMHO there is always room for improvement. Hopefully new board revision will add stuff or at least mitigate the heat issue and result to less power consumption since that is what going 65nm is about.

i just got my machine 5 days ago, DOA limited edition(not so limited though), manufactured on 15 AUG 2006. and its ORIGINAL. i was having so much fun on the live until the damn earthquake................. oh.. my 1 month free trial........

by the way. forget about this if you getting a... modded version, or "flash" version.  whistling.gif

Nice and cool! I hope I am there too, in Live playin DOA with you guys! But someday I will.

There is always very good reason to be original. There will also be reason to change the DVD drive firmware and then play backups or Jack Sparrow edition. There is also reason to wait for the thing to be hacked to allow homebrew or atleast running alternate OS such as Linux.

With that said it looks like homebrew and linux is something nearly impossible on the 360. rclxub.gif It is quite tough this time around biggrin.gif.

yawn.gif Good awful yawning, it is 3 in the morning and I am gone to slumber.

Peace!!!

[OFF TOPIC]

I remember something about the 360 getting award too. But if I am not mistaken the award is for overal stylish design of the console. Not for the electronic design as in the circuit pcb design etc.

Here is the link where I read about it -> Kotaku Article.

Link to FAMITSU article is somewhere in that page.

Have a good night!

Since we are talking about 360 new revision. It is also good to consider what other thing that might be better in the new revision. For instance HDMI port!

Visit the following Xbox Scene link.

That is a possibility due to 65nm process and 360 motherboard revision.

biggrin.gif perhaps larger hard disk? Maybe internal HD-DVD drive? This is all not confirmed by Microsoft.

For me the 65 nm process is good enough reason to wait.

Cheers!!!
