Ya the Xiaomi power bank looks good, 3.6A output, lightweight, and at least they're quite clear that it can only charge while the Macbook is not in use. Will wait a bit while the world catches up on USB type-C connectors.

The 3.6A output is for both ports on the Xiaomi power bank right? So it is like 1.8A max per port?

This MacBook 12 Retina is tempting to me as well. Am waiting to see what appears in WWDC for the MBP before I decide. If they do release a Space Grey MBP, then my money's on that. Else, MacBook it is!

i noticed quite serious lagging on the mouse movement while i project the screen on extended mode to the projector. the mouse moves super slow and laggy while on the extended screen, but when i move the mouse back to the macbook display it is ok. This is strange as i do not have the same problem when i use the macbook 2015. but it happens on macbook 2016. I am using the VGA for projection via the original apple multi-av adapter.

Hi bro. Have u managed to identify the cause and solution to your issue?

Am contemplating to get a MacBook now but undecided with 2016 model due to the problem you mentioned.

Sounds great. Btw, my 15" touchbar screen just decided to stop working.
Will pick up a 12"  bangwall.gif

Just send it in for warranty claim? With Apple's warranty, they should be able to repair or replace it for you within a week or so.

I just got mine back today. The waiting time isn't so bad.

Great to hear that! Yes, indeed Apple's warranty is quite speedy.
So, still getting the MacBook 12?

The Ms Office, Photoshop, etc...all come pre-built into the system?
*
If you wish to save money from purchasing or subscribing to MS Office, you can consider using the free productivity apps that come FREE (brows.gif) with the MacBook, such as Pages (Word-equivalent), Keynote (PowerPoint-equivalent), and Numbers (Excel-equivalent). You can import / export files into the respective compatible MS Office versions as well.

not recommended at all. the macbook is ok for normal usage. but heavy usage, u are better off going for macbook pro.

portability should be the only reason that you choose this macbook over the macbook pro.

if this is ur first and only laptop, i would recommend the macbook pro instead.

Aside from video editing or RAW-image editing, the MacBook Retina 12-inch is plenty fine actually. Many people seemed to be using it as their primary and only laptop.

Of course, this was all before the latest MacBook Pro models were launched, and since then, everything has changed. rclxm9.gif

yeah, currently this is my only laptop and main driver daily, it is really ok for normal tasks. But compare to the new MacBook pro now I would certainly choose the new MacBook pro due to the performance and reduced weight.

Yup. Though looking back, day-to-day normal usage, my previous MacBook 12-inch performs nearly as well as my current MacBook Pro too. That's why it is still in such high demand now. biggrin.gif
